[:"green"]I am so very sorry that the mother died... To feed the joey, you need to make up some Baby BML (no eggshells or wheat germ) and feed it to her. Please check out my page on Hand Raising a Joey. Since the father is still caring for her in every other way, I would continue to leave her with the father & take her out every two hours for feedings. At first, she will only drink a few drops at a time, but as she gets used to it, she'll eat quite a bit. Typical amounts are listed on the link. If she is dehydrated at all, you can give her Pedialyte (or Liquilyte) mixed 50:50 with the Baby BML. If you have further questions, feel free to call me at 440-953-0904 before 9 p.m. ET. I'll be out for the next couple of hours, but should be home in the evening. Good thinking last night about the BML & yogurt mixture!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your glider. At 3 weeks oop, I would suggest feeding her baby bml. It is the same as regular BML but does not have the wheat germ in it. This can be thinned down with pedialite or even puppy milk replacer if necessary and fed with either an eye dropper or (needleless) syringe. At 3 weeks, you will want to feed her about every 2-3 hours or so. Since Dad is doing a good job of caring for her, I would feed her and then return her to dad for him to care for. He will groom her, stimulate her to go potty and keep her warm. Just remember, Dad will need you to babysit at night so he can eat and exersize. Suz has some great information on her site under HAND RAISING A JOEY. I also suggest weighing her daily and keeping track of her weight (in grams) so you can be sure she is gaining weight and growing. Not gaining or weight loss is an indication that she needs help and a vet visit may be needed. Also keep an eye on her hydration. After feeding, offer her some water (again with the eye dropper or syringe). Good luck and please keep us posted on how she is doing. Hand raising is a challenge but can be so rewarding in the long run.
