Hey guys so last night I went suggie din din shopping. And they have these new veggie steamers (green giant). They were marked down from 3.49 (i think) to 65cents. So i bought mixed veggie and broccoli(which i might not use all of if they get gassey).

Anyway my question was that the mixed veggie said "With a trace of salt" in the ingredients, nothing artificial or anything. I looked at the values and it said it had
35mg of sodium >1% of daily value.

I just wanted to have a couple bags to keep frozen in case I ran out of fresh veggies or wanted to be able to make a quick veggie relish.
Can I still use these or should I just eat them myself?

Yes, you can still use them. I feed the broccoli too. I have found that all frozen vegetables have a trace of salt in them.

That little bit of salt in those vegetable will not hurt your gliders. All animals needs some salt, even gliders. That is why blood tastes salty.

The lil bit of salt comes from the blanching solution that they par-cook frozen veggies in to help them retain their color. Since most gliders just rip open veggies and eat the insides, leaving the outer part, they really don't even get much of that original "trace" of salt. And yep, turns out all the frozen veggies that about 75% of us have been using for YEARS have always been done this way, and they don't seem to have suffered for it.

I was just concerned it was mentioned on the mixed veg and not on the broccoli. But i'm very happy I can use it. Hopefully I can go grab a couple more bags while its still on sale!!!

sounds like a great deal! Glad you asked - I'm sure that there were others out there that have wondered the same thing!
