That may be why he's going crazy. Gliders don't want to be separated from their buddies. Put them in the bonding pouch together.

Can you tell us a bit more about your gliders? Are they caged together? Do you still have to introduce them? If they are already caged together, there is no reason for you not to put them both in the bonding pouch. Some gliders will just not go in a bonding pouch, I have gliders who don't like the restrictive feeling and hates a zipper pouch.

If he continues to fight, it means he's scared and if this is the case, you do NOT want to make him stay in there. Gizmogirl is right, there are some gliders that just don't like bonding pouches and it's important to know if yours is one of them. If this is the case, it's possible that you can "train" (and I use this term lightly!!) him to want to go in there - and then again maybe not - this will be entirely up to your glider. You could try either leading him into the bonding pouch with treats, or even throwing some to the bottom of the pouch for him to get. Once he's in there, don't zip up the pouch immediately so do this in a glider proofed area of your home, or inside your tent. You want to make sure he "wants" to go in there so if it's for a good little treat, he might be more inclined to visit. Also, are you making sure that there are several blankies in there with their smells? If not, this is something else to do...not only might the smells help with his comfort level, but gliders LOVE curling up under lots of blankies, it may make him feel more secure. Good luck...keep us posted!

Ok, I just want to say that i thought I was a total glider bonding failure because one of my girls HATES her bonding pouch. Yes, I am saying it out loud; she hates it. But I thought that was an essential part of bonding with a glider; I thought "it is not possible that she really doesn't like it; she is a marsupial; of coarse she wants to be in a pouch." I thought I was doing something wrong. So I kept forcing it. Then she had joeys; and a very wise person on here told me they thought she might not like it. I decided since she had joeys I better not push her; that we would ahve bonding pouch practice again when the joeys grew. All this to say; I just read this post for the first time AND had a LONG chat with another mod; and I am finally accepting that some gliders really do not like bonding pouches and THAT IS OK. I am going back to gliders being in charge in my house (not of the bills or grocery shopping; just of their relationship with us), and now everyone seems more happy I hope anyone else reading this finds their own "happy" with their glider, too
