Hello all, for awhile I did the whole tent time thing. But I feel that a tent is so small and I felt bad that my gliders out of cage time couldnt be in a bigger place. I like to use the bathroom so they can glide and have lots of fun, they still climb on me but have more freedom, is this bad? SHould I go back to using a tent.

I know a lot of people play in the bathroom instead of a tent. Just two things you need to make sure of. Make sure you close the lid on the toilet, and check under the cabinets (if you have any) to see if there is a gap under the overhang. Apparently, many cabinets have this. (We almost lost our parakeet twice to the ones in the kitchen.) If your cabinets do have this, you need to figure out something to keep the gliders from going up in the gap.

I use the bathroom. There's more room for fun.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOOOO HOOOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!

Our bathroom DID have the gaps under the cabinets. You can't see them unless you get down on your hands and knees. We put up some good ol' southern duct tape. Works like a charm....LOL Linus got under there when we first got him and I was so panicked that he would get in between the walls and since he's not bonded and we live in an apartment, well, it could have gotten ugly. I shut off the lights and put out some yogurt and cantelope....viola'! Out he came....LOL

A tent is a very useful tool when bonding with a new glider or a glider that needs some work with bonding issues. However, if you have a bonded glider, then by all means use the bathroom for play time. Use the precautions for glider safety. A small tent is wonderful for bonding because the glider will be forced to play on you and get used to you and your scent. The glider will learn that you are a gentle giant. Jen
