Hi my boyfriend is a carpet fitter and he was saying how the carpets come on plastic tubes, anyway he bought 1 home (all 13ft of it!) and I cut 2 ft off, drilled 3 large holes in it plus 1 each end to hand it and Pacha and Miah love it. I take it this is ok? They are not chewers. Carpet stores throw these tubes away so they make a free great toy. Pic attached.

The second picture is darling with one glider peeping up through the hole! I don't know if those are safe but I would scrub it good then seal it with something safe if I were to use one just in case.
That would make a nice huge tunnel in the living room. Put up ceiling hangers like for sturdy plants and you could take it down when you didn't want it up. I gotta look into these things!

I ran mine through the dishwasher a couple times before I used it, but i just figured carpet isnt the cleanest thing in the world (neither are the work vans LOL) so it needed to be cleaned. Never even thought about the fermaldahyde (sp)

Well I left it soaking in the bath for the day, scrubbed it like mad and like I say they arn't chewers so Im pretty sure it would be ok. Only prob is since its been in the cage they dont want to come out cause they love it so much!!! I thought Id cut off another piece today and put more holes in it and hang it outside the cage. All I know is it is a thick black plastic. Thanks remix, the leaves wern't cheap but they are nice.

[:"green"]Great pictures! They look like they're really enjoying their new tunnel!!! Since you took the precaution of soaking/cleaning it first & since ScootersPet has used them for 2 months with no problem, I would think it would be okay. Just in case, signs to watch for in case of toxic exposure are:
hands or feet curled (as if glider has arthritis or nails are too long)
vomiting
lack of appetite
excessive thirst
Hopefully you won't need this list, but it's better to know the warning signs in advance...
[:"green"]I honestly don't think it will be a problem since the other member has used them without any difficulties. I just felt I better post the symptoms "just in case"...
