I have read if you have 3 breeding females you need to be licensed but is there a total numbver of gliders that requires you to be usda licensed? I now have 5 gliders 3 females and two males and am getting 2 new males. 3 of the gliders are housed together...the 2 females and the male who just got neutered so none of them are breeding. I do have the female and male that have a baby joey now. Do I need to be licensed with this many or only if I am using 3 females to breed? PS sorry if I postred this in the wrong area...wasn't sure if it went here or under laws and regulations.

It must depend on where you're from then. Here if you have 4 females of breeding age in with a neutered male you do not need a license.
They also do not (as far as I know, I do not breed other animals) take into consideration "domestic" animals for breeding purposes.

I guess either way I am safe since i only have 3 females...however I want to find a perfect mate to breed my new leus to so I will have to check into that before I get another female. Although I will never again allow either of my rescued gliders to have babies. The one ate a baby and then rejected the other one and it died. That was an experience I never want to have again!!!

I looked it up as I have 5, soon to be 6, females, and was curious. USDA says 3+ BREEDING females, NOT "breedable".
