I will be going on vacation when my gliders are still fairly young. Will it be better to get them used to traveling with me at a young age, or will it just stress them out too much? I know some people don't advise traveling at all, others bring their gliders with them everywhere. What do you guys think?

As long as I travel during the day my gliders don't seem to notice and sleep the whole way. I think it might depend on how long the drive is going to be but I have never had any problems with traveling with my babies.

That sounds reasonable. During the day they're sleeping anyways and as long as they feel safe you should be fine smile I'm interested to see what comes up! I'm thinking of possible travel later on and if I bring gliders with. Not that any of mine are terribly young but it's still good to know thumb

I heard of one person talking about camping with them! There is a little travel cage thing I found for them that I think would work for toys/pouch/wheel/water/food (the necessities, right?) http://www.sugar-glider-store.com/trtrca.html

I also have a little carrier that may serve useful for a day trip, but wouldn't be suitable for them for overnight use.

I'm so excited about everything!

That travel carrier is awesome. I go to visit my family a few times a yr and I take them with. Its an 8-9hr drive. They actually will wake up, look around and sometimes play. I have never noticed any sign of stress when we travel with them, I check on them the whole trip(yes I keep apples and water with them also). I put them in a bigger cage when I get to moms and they love it. I usually spent a 1-3wks with my family when I go up. But our travels are coming to an end cause were going to be moving up there.

I was actually speaking of using that travel carrier AS the cage for the vacation time (usually less than 5 days) It says the bottom is removeable for keeping clean, I can fleecy up the bottom, there is already a perch in there for a toy or two and a pouch, and its tall for some jump room. I saw another one recommended by SunCoast but I, for whatever reason, don't really like the way its designed. http://www.sugar-gliders.com/store/merch...utm_medium=shop

I think my main concern would be stress. I'd love to think that as long as they're safe with me and have their needs met, that they'll be minimally stressed, but I guess I won't know until I try it smile
