Never heard of her either. Didn't see anything "wrong" on her website other than no real diet plan and some spelling errors.

EXCEPT she says they will get along fine with all other household pets.

She also doesn't list the lineages on the gliders.

Just looking at the website she wouldn't be a breeder I would be comfortable buying from. JMO

I just don't feel comfortable with this person at all. But then again, I don't feel comfortable with ANY breeder that has THAT MANY sugar gliders JMO. I feel like in order to spend quality time with that many suggies and the joeys you couldn't sleep.. and even that wouldn't allow enough one on one time with them.

But yeah I didn't see anything about lineage, BUT I did ask her. I know some people don't put the lineage on there because they either forget or whatever. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and sent a message asking about lineage.

I also was like WHAT?!! When I saw that diet plan.. first off it's not at all specific, and second it's not a diet I have ever seen/heard of. Maybe it works, maybe it is 2:1, but it's not very detailed/specific.

The only thing I like are some of the suggie pictures.. but who doesn't like a picture of a suggie? LOL

I'd be interested to know what they mean with Black Beauty mosaic. I don't know about the people themselves, but when looking at the site I FEEL like its sort of a mill for money type place. This is just my opinion for what it's worth smile

If I remember correctly, I spoke to that breeder for many hours on the phone and via email last year.

Priscilla Price sold her many, many, many gliders all at once. It was nearly 100 gliders(I believe it was 30 breeding pairs+joeys, but I would need to double-check my emails to be sure). She wasn't given ANY information about genetics or the importance of lineages. Priscilla pretty much lead her to believe that she was making a great investment and would be making lots of money. :/

Pretty much all of the gliders she was sold were old, inbred, or from sterile mosaic lines. :/

Sadly, from what I've heard, this is only one of multiple instances where people like her have been duped into buying all of the gliders that Priscilla no longer wants. frown

Anyways...there is lineage on most of the breeder's gliders. I helped her to figure out some of them last year because some of the names she remembered or had records of and we were able to pinpoint which ones they were in the database. Those that she wasn't able to identify I suggested that she no longer breed them and try and find good, pet-only homes for some of the gliders so that she's not to overwhelmed and can have time to handle all her gliders and joeys.

All that being said, the woman was very sweet and seemed very open to making the needed changes. I think she got into breeding from the wrong angle(business and $, rather then for the love of gliders, although she DOES love her gliders), but from the looks of it she's definitely made some improvements.

If anyone has the time and willingness I would highly suggest emailing her and seeing if you can help her to make additional improvements. Unfortunately, I lost touch with her after a while because of things going on here, but, as I said, she was very open to suggestions and wanted to do right by the gliders.

She got the "get along with other pets" thing from Priscilla. :/

As for the lineage, some of her gliders are already listed(such as Juliet). They are Priscilla's old gliders. Some, however, are probably joeys she's bred herself, so I'm sure if you contact her she could give you the lineage. They might even already be listed in the database.

It is sad to think that Pricilla would do that to someone. This is why I do not like "big breeders" at all. To have gliders just as "breeders" and dispose of them once you are "done" with them is just not right to me.

I would not have a dog, breed her, sell her puppies and then when she was to old, just sell her to someone else.

My animals are my companions first and foremost. IF they breed, that is a bonus (and sometimes a PAIN, like when my bulldog had 9 puppies!). I once bought a sheltie with the intents of breeding her. BUT, it was the sheltie I wanted as my life long companion. As it turned out, I never did get pups from her. She developed epilepsy. But she lived 15 years before I had to say goodbye to her. One of the best dogs I've ever had.

Unless I saw emails from Pricilla herself, I wouldn't take the word of someone I didn't know. I am not Pricilla so I can't say what was exchanged between the two of them, but I doubt they were sold with no info/no lineage. Why would someone even buy 30 pairs with no lineage?

I'd also be suspect of someone who buys 30 breeding pairs at one time. What kind of motivation do you need to buy 30 pairs? Companionship?

Something I don't like is that she has her "breeders" pictures but yet with the available joeys she has up, the parents aren't among those shown.
She has listed in her prices "lue mosaics" $500. uhm, what?

Brian, there are actual black beauty mosaics. I forget who had the picture of the glider I've seen on here

The thought of $500 for some of those gliders is nice, but I just wouldn't do it personally.

WOW so she has more gliders than what is pictured?

I have a BB Mosaic. I know I'm not the only one, so the pictures you're thinking about may be someone else's glider. dunno

But they are real. wink

In my experience of "blind" purchase of sugar gliders (meaning I picked a USDA lisenced breeder and read the reviews before I joined GC) I will never recommend this option to anyone. I HIGHLY recommend getting to know a breeder, finding out how many breeding pairs they have to ensure the joeys are actually being handled and tamed so that when it is time to come home to you, they are sweet and not little terrors because they are afraid and just don't know any other way.

I have first hand experience of a breeder that does not know the OOP date for certain, did not give me updates on how my babies were doing - even though I asked every week. This breeder also cannot tell me the lineage and when my babies were delivered to me, she was not available.

Now my new baby coming from Connie? COMPLETE 180. I am very excited about Kalea.

And though I had a rough start with my two babies now, thanks to caring and knowledgible people here on GC they are coming along slowly but surely to being the sweet suggies they are smile

I would be extremely leery of buying just pet only from her, I see NO reason to not list or link to your lineages on your site. She has time to link you to the exotic swap meet she will be attending in NE but can't link lineages ...smells bad.

Second are you looking for a reputation as a breeder here, if so be very careful where you get your breeding gliders, you personally had this exact issue with the last unknown who sold you gliders that were questionable.
To me this is a replay for you.

If the prices are too good to be true there is usually a reason.

Trigger I pm'd you obviously you arent reading properly this thread has nothing to do with me it is me trying to help a friend find out more info on a breeder so she doesnt make the wrong purchase! I would appreciate you not turning this thread into something about me which isnt the full truth! I am not looking to purchase these gliders I only purchase from reputable breeders here on GC and LGG!

Then tell your friend exactly what I said regarding this stinky smelling site/breeder and tell them of how you guys got took by the one you ran into. Save her some heartache and misery.

LOL Just got a not so friendly email from this Judy claiming all her gliders came from PP and gossiping about is isnt a good idea etc etc...And as I explained to her it has nothing to do with gossip just people going off the information on her site! The whole point is to ask questions and learn about breeders if you dont know about them!

I sent her a message, she replied back saying she does have lineage on her gliders. She originally had it posted on her website, but she no longer keeps it on her website.

I wasn't trying to bash this lady without knowing her, I just said I wouldn't buy from her due to her quantities JMO. She seems like a very nice lady though, and the gliders do look well taken care of on the website. SOO, I think if anyone is going to buy from her, they should just do their hw by speaking directly to her.

Getting opinions from GC is great, but we obviously don't know this lady well enough to give any real information other than opinions.

Remember, we all started out somewhere and I think she was lead astray for the purpose of rehoming older gliders and some with poor lineage. We tend to trust until we know better.

I know someone is working with her right now. Let's see if she turns out to be worth her salt. I do know she has a lot invested in these gliders and she may just be trying to digest is all.

Ok. She does care. She is working on laying out her lineages for me so I can help her on this. It's gonna be a lot of work so wish us luck.
