With the recent cage scare, I thought I'd share where I get my cages from.

They're 5' tall and are pretty sturdy. I've been replacing my 3' cages with them and in fact, just ordered 2 cages yesterday. Terry sent them by FedEx and they're due to arrive next Tuesday. I've ordered and received 5 cages so far from Terry and have had a problem with only one. The wire was wonky on the bottom, couldn't be fixed and wasn't escape proof.

I emailed Terry and he immediately sent me a replacement that day.

Here is the link to his cages. They're $99.95 with free shipping. eBay cage

Quick question Connie, are some levels/shelves removable? I'm looking into another cage for the future and this one seems really nice. How sturdy is it, too?

Yes, absolutely. I have bought from Terry for some time now and other than the small issue I mentioned earlier, I have had absolutely no problems in any way, shape or form.

All of the shelves are removable. My grandsons take these cages in and out for cleaning. If they can survive my grandsons, they're very sturdy! LOL!

Yes, he checks his email at least once a day. He'll get back with you pretty quick if he needs to.

BTW, the cages I ordered came in today. Four day shipping. Not bad at all, considering two of those days were Sat & Sun!

I see it comes with the castors. Is there a drop tray for bedding/droppings? How do you clean that out??

Yes, there is a drop tray. Since my cages are on a shelf, I don't use the wheels and metal frame. I'll go take a pic so you can see.

Tray in

Tray pulled out a little bit

All of my regular cages but one, are this size. Next week, that one will be replaced with the 5' cage as well. I have had no problems with the cages or the guy I get them from.

I got one of these cages!

There are a lot of doors~ but it came with a handful of small zipties which I used on all the smaller doors.

The only thing~ If you have a 12" wheel.. put it inside of the cage before you assemble the cage completely because it will not fit through the doors. Then you will have to figure out how you are going to clean the wheel inside of the cage.. because it isn't coming out lol~

The doors on this cage are a little smaller than my last cages.. and I was forcing the wheel through on my old cages .. so just prepare for that.

I put this cage together and then panicked because I hadn't put the wheel in lol~~ In the end it has turned out great and my gliders love it! (and cleaning the wheel isn't that bad.)

(oh~ and that stand is my stand from my old cages~ lol~ it didn't come with the new cage.)

You're right about putting the wheel in first. I hang my stealth wheels and it's much easier when you put them in before the cage is done, but my grandson can squeeze the wheels together enough to get them in and out if needed. I just keep them in the cage and they get cleaned along with the cage.

I've heard from someone that these cages are kinda wobbly and not sturdy enough. That is why i've never considered getting one. After reading all of these great reviews I may consider it now smile

Would it be sturdy enough if I have two side-mounted wheels? Seems like the only con about this cage is getting them in. smile

My cages get taken off the shelves, drug outside by my grandson every couple of weeks, scrubbed and drug back into the house and put back on the shelf. Not only do they hold together well, but they're light enough to be carried easily.

I have hung some pretty heavy toys on these cages with no problems. I've even set 2-3 apple branches (weighing 4-5 lbs) on the cage floor. It'll sway a bit but not bend or break and doesn't cause the cage to pull apart enough to let gliders escape.

I have 7 of these cages now and have had several in the past. The only reason I have replaced the old ones, is because all cages eventually rust and these are no exception. No cages were replaced for lack of functionality. I've used these for 4 1/2 years now.

Has anyone used any other cage by this seller?
The one i am considering is by the same seller as this one Connie has but it is called:

large Bird Cage cockatiel sugar glider finch parakeet

and the seller is: 1number

I just want to make sure there has not been a poisoning associated with these cages before the precious babies go in. This is being bought as a travel/temporary cage, which is why it needs to be smaller than Connie's (and yes, I have tried a dog kennel, but I have a chewer). Thank you!

If you squeeze it together, the stealth and TGI wheels will fit. The custom cruiser won't fit through the door. You'll have to put it in before you finish assembly, which is no problem.

This cage comes in white or black, includes feed dishes. I don't know what brand this cage is. It has 7/16" bar spacing instead of 1/2". Powder coated finish.
This one comes in black and is an Excel cage. Non-toxic epoxy coated finish. 1/2" bar spacing.

Also, the pictures are at different angles, which makes them seem different.

HTH!
