I currently do not have any gliders, yet. I am hoping to get a pair of gliders very soon and am looking forward to it. I was planning on putting the gliders in the other room with my iguana so that they can be as loud as they want at night and be warmer in there from the heat lamps of the iguana cage (especially with upcoming winter and nights getting colder). I am worried though that they might find each other threatening and I don't want to get either one upset. Do you think some type of barrier between the two cages would be ok and necessary? Other concerns of the two? I also have two dogs and one of them is a bit of a barker around small furry creatures and cats, but he doesn't hurt or try to hurt any of them. I was thinking of blocking off the bottom of the cage to protect it more. And I am going to try my best to keep him out of that room, especially not have him in there when the gliders are not in their cage. Any advice on dogs around gliders and in same house?

Iguanas like to sleep at night, so the gliders might drive your iguana crazy with their antics and barking.
Also, be careful not to cross-contaminate. Iguanas--even healthy ones--carry salmonella in their feces. You wouldn't want to infect the gliders. I'm afraid that with the two species being in the same room, it might be all too easy to spread germs around.
I have two big dogs and the glider room door is open during the day (it gets cold in there otherwise) so the dogs are free to go in there if they really wanted to... but they don't.
When the gliders are out, the glider room door is shut. When I am doing ANYTHING in there and a cage is open, the door is shut.
Also, my cages are sturdy, up off the floor, and lock securely. And my dogs are 5 and 8 and have grown up with all kinds of little critters; they really don't seem to notice or care about the gliders. So that's why I don't 100% banish them from the glider room any more than I banish them from the corner of the livingroom where my chinchilla and gerbil cages are kept. The dogs just don't care. Cages are like another piece of furniture to them.
But don't get me wrong: never EVER have the species met. And they never will.

i have lizard terrarium in the same room with gliders... at first they were afraid of them, now they just dont pay attention... most of the day lizards are on the curtain of the room, and around late afternoon i put them back to terrarium to sleep. and i wash the curtains very often... gliders are most of the time with me, they dont go to the curtain where are lizards. only my geckos like to play with gliders... he sees them through the glass and runs around the glass like he is teasing them... it is very funny to watch...

The problem with letting them share play areas (common areas) is that iguanas carry salmonella and it can be deadly to gliders.
I've been taking care of my son's 4 foot iguana for almost 2 years now. The gliders NEVER go in the area used by the iguana for that reason. Extreme sanitary measures are used after I have handled (ok, pet, I'm not picking up that 4 foot lizard!) the iguana to prevent both myself and my gliders from getting sick.
Also, be aware that gliders will eat lizards if they can. Obviously my 4 foot iguana wouldn't be at risk but a gecko would be.

A small part of the glider's natural diet is lizards(of course nothing as big as an iguana!, but still). I have a room with my geckos and a turtle...but I don't want to stress out the lizards with the constant presence of gliders in the same room due to the predator/prey relationship.

I am not going to let both, or possibly either one, run around the room outside of their cage. I also won't have them that close to each other to avoid any food, feces, and what not to get in the other cage.
I'm thinking to put up some type of divider between the two. So in the future when the iguana is bigger and tamer, I can let her out to walk across the room to do tub time. And let her hang out on her half of the room. Just to be sure there isn't cross contamination issues, I'll have the gliders out to play in the bathroom (after thoroughly sanitized if same bathroom as iguana) or tent time.
In the future when I have more than one lizard (I plan to get a different, but very large lizard), I may have them both in one room and the gliders in another area or room away from them.

As feces dries, it flakes off into miniscule particles, invisible to the human eye. Any feces from either animal WILL be cross contaminated, no matter how well you clean. You cant catch every single piece of pooh before it has a chance to dry and become airborne. if at all possible, I would separate them into different rooms now and completely avoid any common areas for them to be in.

I didn't think about the feces getting airborne. Thanks for pointing that out. I am not gonna put them in the same room.

When I first got gliders, I already had several reptiles. I kept them all in the same room. Never let the reptiles out to play in the room and the gliders have had a play tent in another room anyway.
I didn't have any of my reptiles tested, though I know salmonella is extremely common in the pet herp trade. I did have an iguana years ago that did not have salmonella until he turned 2 (after a weekend he stayed with a friend and a friend of hers brought over her baby iguana...it is extremely contagious between reptiles). You can have your reptiles tested to know, but if you find they are positive, there isn't any way to cure it. And be aware they could still pick it up at any time.
The gliders did like that the room stayed warm all the time and the different time tables of the gliders versus the reptiles didn't seem to bother either one. Neither did the scent of each other. (For the first year of glider ownership, I had them in separate rooms. Their behaviors didn't change when they all moved into the same room).
I did make the choice not to clean cages the same day. I would clean reptile cages one day and glider cages different days. I never handled them within hours of each other and was always careful with hygiene. The gliders never got anything (neither did the lizards, lol).
