WHile all this sounds exciting, i still dont understand why you can say hell or damn but the A word (the one for butt or donkey) is censored? I am not trying to start a great debate here but it seams to me that A and hell are physical things, while damn is by definition a curse.

Honestly, I dont understand why a censor is needed in the first place. Not saying GC should not have one, but instead asking why people cannot learn to curb their language on their own. We are adults here and should know when it is and is not appropriate to say certain things.

As for censoring what kids say. Hummmmmm. They dont use bad language in front of their parents or their pastors, but have you ever listened to them in school? UGH.

Here are the SMILEY CODES and you can also (below the box where you type) click on "Switch to Full Reply Screen" and on the left hand side is a smiley. Click there and you can find all of them that way, too.

Other words were discussed for removal, but after some talk we just decided there was no need for some of the words to be used here. We do not look at the dictionary term of the word, we look at the context of the word. We really do not see any way that word and others could be used positively here.

There may be one or two ways the context of that word could be used in a non negative way, but context in posts as always is a difficult thing to read. You never know what the future will bring as far as changes to the board and or the censor. 2011 has brought a lot of change here to GC in two stages, while the doors will never be swung open all the way, we will continue to adapt with the time while keeping the family oriented board as it was started.



I don't understand it either Jill Marie, but before you say we should just ask them to curb their language you must stop and think about it. Obviously words have been added for a reason. Obviously many were not able to curb their language.

This is a forum about sugar gliders, a place to help others, share with other glider owners and learn. While many of the words in our censor I use in my everyday vocabulary I can curb myself here as I see no reason for that language to be used here.

Same goes for the rest of rule 4. We are adults here right? We should be acting like adults right? Than why are there people constantly bashing others, harassing others, and being down right disrespectful to others? We have asked people to curb that behavior here for years, yet it still happens so its obvious that asking people to curb their language will not work. I wish it would, but it wont.
