Hi, the next glider event is planned for April 29th at 6:00pm at my house, again. If you're interested in coming, please let me know what pot-luck item you would like to bring, how many will be coming, how many will be swimming and look for more details in the "Glider Events" area of this web-site. Thanks, see you there ...

Actually the glider social has been changed to the 6th of May due to my husband's work schedule. Please let me know if you are coming by responding on the special events forum. Thanks.

I'm from Utah. I am originally from Australia. I have lived in Park City for 3 going on 4 years now. Here is where i met my wonderful husband and now a proud new owner of Owen, who is the sweetest guy in the world. Even though he still crabs at me... I still love him.

Welcome to GC! Glad to finally see someone from my 'neck of the woods'! I live in Kamas, but work in Park City-so if you ever need anything, just let me know. There are no vets up here for our little ones, but the vet database (at the bottom of the page) has the ones I use in SLC...with Foothill animal clinic/Wasatch Exotics being the closest, and my Nighttime ER vet a little farther. Dr. Orr (Bird and Exotic) moved to Draper (used to be a few blocks from Pet ER)-a very long drive now from up here. Anyway, here's the link for you, and again, welcome to GC! Utah Glider Vets

The two previous ones have been pot luck style, meeting other glider people, eating, talking and showing off our little ones. And gidget our wonderful hostess offered her home in SLC for both times, and bbqed for us and they were a lot of fun.

I agree! Glider get togethers are a good time! I have enjoyed meeting and talking with people who care so much for gliders. I personally have learned quite abit form the people I have met at the get togethers!

sounds cool, however I think the age difference would be strange or I would come to the next one. Maybe I could bring along a family member, lol.

OMG OMG I am so excited to see so many people in UT! I have been on USGN for a few weeks now and though they have a section like this, no one has really posted their name! I am in Sugarhouse, UT (like 5-10 mins from downtown) and just got my first suggie - Carmella! She recently lost her cage mate before I got her so after a few weeks of her settling in I hope to rescue a n/male for her! If anyone in UT does rescue or hears of a homeless glider please let me know!!

Welcome Brittney. I will keep you posted. You plan on neutering any male you take in?

Ummm I am hoping to find a male that's already neutered as I think it will be the easiest transition for my girl. As far as I can tell she's never been bred, so I would ideally not like to give her a cage mate unfixed only to have him change dramatically in the fix?? Either way, I would get him fixed before putting them together - babies aren't my aim!

Well if they (mom and dad) never come back from them.. I'm not too far away in Sugar House and I'm looking for a boy... you could maybe twist my arm and I would take both :-D
PS - My little sis Sam has a friend who's mom has suggies named Pebbles and BamBam... I wonder if that's you...)

I am also in Utah. I live in Sandy! A get together would be fun. I've only had my gliders since Halloween and they now have two babies OOP last night. It's good to know there are so many people in my area in case i need help.

Hi, I'm from Utah.. Layton to be precise. I've owned my first Suggie for under a week and things are going great. His name is Thor and he's around 4 years old. P.S. I can't pull up the vet database to update the list there (Clearfield vet has taken gliders since about 2001 I think.) Oh goodness.. I think I'm going to spend my tax return on him!! (Don't worry.. it's not big or anything, and I live in an apartment so there's only so much I can buy him. :P)

I hope to rescue a n/male for her! If anyone in UT does rescue or hears of a homeless glider please let me know!! Was just reading through the posts to see who else is in utah and noticed your comment. You should do what I do and check KSL. So many people are trying to get rid of their gliders it's heartbreaking! Most of them need to be neutered, but once you've been through one neuter it's not so tramatic the next time.

Also on KSL there is a listing for a pet rescue, they are very nice. And I think they fix them before adopting them out. When you go into KSL go into other pets and browse threw there like it was said before I think alot of these people got thier gliders for christmas and forgot to do the research and then realized how much work they are and that is why some of them are listed. Not all of them just some of them are listed because of no research.

Ok, I was going to try and group PM everyone for this, but there are just too many of you in Utah !!! I hope this is ok... We are trying to plan/hold a West Coast Sugar Glider Get Away.... or gathering... we haven't come up with a name yet! I was hoping to get the news out to our neighbors in Utah in hopes that maybe some of you would like to attend? There is a post in Special Events titled "WCSGGA" with all the info so far. Again, I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this here. Just trying to get the word out! Thanks everyone!
