I've have zeus and athena for about a week now. I was able to hold zeus in his pouch today. He crabbed a little but then settled down. When I did the same with athena she freaked out and wouldn't settle down. I want to do pouch time with them but would feel bad about having one but not the other. They also switch sleeping spots every day and today they are sleeping separate. Is this good?

Gliders have different personalities, just like people. Some will warm up faster than others. Some will take a lot more time and patience to bond with them. You have to go at their individual pace, not yours. I know its hard, but it will all be worth it in the end. Dont rush either of them.

Its okay to have one and not the other, as long as the other isnt upset about it. You can do one at a time, until the other gets a little more comfortable with you.

Yes, its normal for them to sleep in different spots... I find mine in the ball pit, in the toy basket, in a forager.... you name it...

My girlfriend and I have two gliders. A boy and a girl. We kinda made it so that they went to us separately. She has the girl and I have the boy. The girl will lick her face and sleep with her but will only let me hold her. The boy will jump to me when he gets on other people but he kinda has his own personality but is my baby. They are different but yeah I would think that only one could get attached to you. Plus if you have only had them for a week thats not very long by what I have read. We have had ours for 6 months and my boy is just so independent he still wont lay on me. He just runs around and plays. Like Sitkasmom said, they have didfferent personalities.

I just wanted to address what you said about them sleeping separately. Yes, that is normal, especially when you first get them and they are just getting acclimated to their environment and to each other (if they weren't cagemates before you got them). For the most part gliders will sleep together, but sometimes you'll find one here and one there -kind of like one passed out earlier in the morning and later, the other one passed out somewhere else and they're just A-OK with that.

You can bond at different paces, certainly. Just go at each individual glider's pace and eventually the slower one with catch up to the faster one and they'll both be bonded to you. One week is nothing. You have plenty of time! They can live over 15 years!!!

I have kinda of the same question...

I am used to having tinkerbell in my shirt...I just got a new baby glider and I wonder if she will feel left out if one day I take tinker and not her?

I think it's best you give the two of them a week or so to bond with each other so the new one doesn't feel so insecure when you leave it alone to take Tink out...after that it should be ok to treat each one individually....but I have to ask...why one but not the other?

I agree - I would give them a couple of days together to get used to each other and then, why not take them both?
