Hi Kari. Welcome! Of course, a picture would help us out a lot in order to help you, but what you're describing sounds like staining. Do you know what diet your glider was on before coming to you? What diet do you have him on now? Try to post a pic if you can.

Pellets? Don't keep your little guy on pellets, it could be the reason for staining and a lot of other future problems, get him on a good diet asap. Some examples of these are HPW (many variations), BML, LGRS. There are more, I just don't know them all. Good job with the fruits and veggies, def keep those! Also, it would be in your and your glider's best intrest if you got him a buddy asap as well, they are colony animals and lone gliders often self mutilate, over groom, get really depressed/stressed. Just some info you might want to know before something bad happens. Oh and, Hope you have lots of fun times with your new little boy! Good luck and... PICS PICS PICS!!! Once again-->

Thanks for all the welcomes! :D I have been trying to get some pictures of him but when he is awake its hard to get him to hold still for long. He got to meet my smallest dog (boston terrier) the other night and although it wasn't love at first sight by the end of the night Malcolm was running around on Luna with no fear! About the staining (I'm going to be researching more what that is)and what he is eating; he was on pellets and fresh fruit and veggies when I got him so I have kept him on the same diet. He loves strawberries! I also got him some gliderade but it doesn't seem like he really is drinking much. He likes to like my ice cubes if I drinking water. off topic but please do not introduce you glider to any other animals, it is not safe! Not matter how they get along, all it takes is a split second and gliders are very fragile....

"I did a lot of my research on the ASGV.org site before I got my little guy but I really think they are owned by or at least supported by the PP company and they all push pellets." You are correct, they and quite a bit of their info are false. They are a phony organization put together by PP. Please do research somewhere else. It's really in yours and your glider's best interest. Sugar Glider Help is a good place as well as the gliderpedia on sugarglider.com. If you gave me a week to sort through all my bookmarks I could probably give you at least 100 glider sites that have some good info, but they would take some time to read... XD

Im a new mommy too to Cinammon she was a glider from a lady who was giving me some old tables she had and there I saw her. She said she didn't have time for her and I fell in love. She is sweet, kind of skiddish because the previous owner did not give her much attention. I have been researching alot about sugar gliders and I have been spending alot of time with Cinammon. I just need some help with diet items. I have been giving her a powdered calcium on her food but she does not like it. She wont eat the fruit. Is there any better way to give her the calcium. I know she does not need much because they are prone to a bone disease but I know she needs some in her diet. She loves pecans and cooked chicken. I have recently learned she can eat grub worms. What about home made toys. I have already made her some pouches and she loves this little cat ball i gave her that lights up. She is in love with that. Any ideas?

XD That would be great if you have some sites I could research more! I would appreciate it a lot! I felt like I was totally mislead by the (PPP) Perfect Pocket Pets and ASGV sites...lol I thought I was getting a pocket sized dog that would let me know when he had to go potty and go on a napkin...HAHA! Mal showed me real quick he prefers my shoulder to a napkin as a potty (and pretty much every where else). I almost didn't register here because that site seems so official and they said that forums are not a good place to get info...Glad I checked out GC anyways! I have so many tabs and internet pages open all full of glider stuff! LOL My fiancee says I'm obsessing, but I enjoy doing research so I know what is best for my little Mal!
