When a breeder asks you to sign a contract, what kind of contract do they use? Is it via email or mailed?
Sorry this question is random, but I was just wondering how it works and if it actually helps make the agreement work out. dunno

Usually, the contract just helps protect the breeder and the buyer against problems. A lot of people offer a health guaruntee and they want to put it in writing. As well as "breeder" or "pet only" terms. Also, most breeders will have somewhere on the contract that they have to be contacted before anybody else if you have to get rid of your glider, usually it has to go back to the breeder.
I know I've been burned a couple times with people trying to weasle out of reading all the terms and policies I have so I put them all on my contract.
It depends on the breeder if they send it via email or mail. I know I usually send it to them over email so they can just look at it. Then, I will print out two copies, sign them and send them to the new owner. Then I will get the one copy back signed by both of us.

Usually they are just made from the breeder.

This is how I have received 2/3's of the contracts I have signed. First by email and then hard copy's in person. I think it is better than way. You can address any concern before meeting.

They can be, but I think that many people on here get a lot of help from one another as the one's I have read have been very similar.

Is a hard copy what makes it binding or can email only be enough?

best option for a legally binding contract is a hard copy that has been notarized.

You definitely need the hard copy and have it notorized to be legally binding.

Actually, I believe that faxes (hard copy) and e-mails are legally binding as well. I could be wrong, better to ask an attorney.

A contract can be legally binding in hard copy (original) or via electronic such as fax or email as long as its signed its legally binding but yes hard copy is safer all contracts i deal with ( i sell real estate) are frequently transferred electronically signed then electronically transferred back

What constitutes as an electronic signature? Saying yes I agree and it being from your email address? Just curious if I sell a glider for pet only via email and they say yea sure, is that binding enough?

And what can be done if there is nothing stated other than "pet only" home in the email, and it doesn't give any fine print about consequences? Anything?

Laws may vary from one state to another about the requirements for a binding contract. Check with your clerk of court to find out if email correspondence can be considered binding.

You can negotiate by email, but I would put all of the agreed terms into a single written document and have it signed and notarized.

I think what she meant was, you email the contract to the person - they print it out and sign it - then they scan it and email it back. I have customers do that myself.
