I had Tia in my bra earlier today, and she was fine, sleeping soundly. She woke up and started grooming herself and me, then curled up and went back to sleep. About 20 minutes later she started doing this rhythmic jerking. I peeked at her, and her eyes were closed, she jerked a couple more times then reached out a paw and grabbed a hold of my chest (ouch). I went to my room where I could take her out, and gently pulled her out of my bra and petted her. She looked around a little dazed like she normally does when she gets woken up, then peed on me and ran up my arm, down my back and jumped onto the curtains. She seems fine now, she's eating and drinking fine, and she's running on her wheel like normal. So could she have been dreaming and twitching in her sleep? Or was it something more serious (like a seizure)? I'm probably going to give my vet a call in the AM and see what he says, but what do you all think?

I do think gliders dream. One of my little ones, Jubilee, will sometimes softly bark once as if she was having a bad dream while she and her sister, Rogue, are sleeping in their pouch. I haven't seen her twitch during that time and Jubilee's always fine when I peek into the bag to check on them.

I think they dream too, but I'm no expert. I do know though, that the little joey I'm currently hand-raising sometimes crabs in his sleep. I check on him when he does and nothing is wrong, he just keeps on sleeping lol.

Inca curls up to sleep on my tummy with my hands wrapped around her, and once she falls asleep I take my hands away so I can play on my PSP, or read, or whatever.. Occasionally I feel her fidget, and she'll tense up suddenly when she sleeps, or her legs will jump to her mouth like when she's just 'caught' a mealie.. I'm almost certain that they do dream. She sometimes makes a little half-hearted crab in her sleep, or will wake up suddenly and look all confused. They're so sweet!

Same here Mine with twitch their legs sometimes almost like Thumper and bark/chirp softly. I love watching them do it -- just so long as they are having good dream

I don't know what they are thinking, but I've noticed that mine will twitch and occasionally make little chirping noises while they sleep. I carry them to work a lot, so I get it all day--along with some interesting looks from co-workers...

I love when they chirp in their sleep! Yes I have one that does flip fliops so bad she wakes up - I dont doubt they dream!
Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

I take them to work all the time in the bonding pouch. It's a small office so everyone knows I have them. I've gotten a few names for them, my favorite so far is my "bag of creatures". Some of my other co-workers bring in their dogs (it's pretty laid back here), maybe they are jealous they can't put their pet in a bag and take it everywhere pretty much undetected.

I'm glad to know that other suggies do this too, I called my vet and he said since she woke up and stopped it probably wasn't a seizure, but to bring her in if I'm worried. She's been fine since, so it was probably a dream.

I don't have gliders but I do know that all 7 of our dogs dream and our cat must dream about chasing and catching animals. If you say "Catchit" or "Catchem" or "catch the mouse" the paws twitch extra fast and they even sometimes yip or bark in their sleep. Too cute

I asked Leah and Zelda and Fiona, and they all say "I dream of mealies!" I told them it was a corny joke and Jeannie might be offended to be replaced by mealies. But if Jeanie could grant mealies, that might be a different story.... :-D
