We started a poll six years ago listing 25 diets known for gliders, you can find the results here. We now have 35 diets listed in this poll.

I was asked if we can do another poll to see how things have changed over the past six years and agreed it would be great and interesting to do again.

Please read through the list of diets below and vote for the one that you feed to your gliders. If you have used multiple diets, please select only the diet that you are currently feeding so we can see the most up-to-date results.

Note: Glider Central does not intend this list to be considered as a "proven" diet list. When deciding which diet is right for your gliders please consult your vet, breeder, and be sure to check out the Diet and Nutrition board here on Glider Central.

Also Note: These diets are to be fed according to their specific instructions. Please remember that the majority of the diets listed are to be fed in combination with certain fruits, veggies, and/or insects along with the diet itself. Please research your diet to find the way it was intended to be fed. We will try and do another poll in six months from now to see if diets are changing. Please bring it to my attention if we forget.

I feed HPW Complete & HPW Plus, I mix them together, to get a better consistency to the mix.
How should I vote?

You can only choose one Josefine - maybe you should choose the one you have used the longest time.

I absolutely LOVE HPW Complete. I have been feeding HPW Complete for about a year, fed HPW Plus for a year before that and HPW Original before that for several years. I love all of the HPW diets equally and would highly recommend each of them.

Hello guys!! I'm brand spankin new to this forum well as far as being a member goes!! Okay so two questions I am currently feeding my two girls Delilah and nectar the suncoast diet. I use there chicken and rice staple food along with a 30/70% protein/fruits+veg. After a bunch of diff forums and websites I feel maybe I'd like to try n change or add the HPW diet into it for my own nutritional concerns. I don't see to much talk on the suncoast diet mainly just hpw or bml? My suggies are healthy and I'm pretty informed on what to feed them I guess I'm jus concrned cus of the abundance of people using the other diets. Thanks so much

Did you put that in the poll above? If not, please do so. The more people we have putting their info in, the more accurate/complete the results will be. wink

Our boys have never been happier with the HPW Complete!

Asher's eyes only continue to improve and the bluish coloring has lightened up and you can see pupils a bit clearer now. I'm sure he is happy about that too!

I don't have a specific diet I just feed fresh fruits and veggies at night, keep a dry glider food in his cage 24/7 and he gets glider vitamins sprinkled on his food every other night. My vet says this is fine. he also gets meal worms or crickets as well.

Eddie, is there a way to make the results visible to those trying to decide which diet are currently being used? As it is right now, someone just researching cannot see the results unless you participate in the poll. (or at least that is the way it was for me.)

I'm still feeding hpw original, already recorded it in poll, but I do serve pet pro pellets a few nights a week in small dish and forage toys,

I've had suggies for more than a decade. I used to do BML for maybe the first 4 years or so. My babies did just fine on the BML, but I wanted something without some of the components and smell of BML. So, then I switched to Priscilla Price's The Pet Glider, Exotic Pet diet and also use her vitamin/supplement. Wow!!! My babies just love that food. They enjoy the variation (veggies/fruits rotate). And they really, really love the supplement that I sprinkle on the top. My babies have gorgeous coats and thankfully, never had a health problem. I can't say enough positive comments about P's diet. Fantastic!

I started with the Priscilla diet, however one of mine had a seizure. I took her to the vet and the vet suggested the BML diet because the glider was not getting enough sugar. However, I have thought about doing to the HPW but do not understand how it works. I saw a site that sold the HPW complete or something powder package, another package of something and some jelly stuff. It did not go into details of how it works. Could someone sum it up for me? Also, my vet said something about does the calcium I am giving my gliders have D3 in it or something like that? She said they cannot process the calcium without it. I use Glider-Cal but it does not say D3 on it. Does anyone know?
Thank you

Jezzabella, you will get more responses if you start a topic for your diet questions. This thread is about the poll.

Briefly, it sounds like you were looking at the Exotic Nutrition site. The "jelly stuff" is probably Gumivoir Fare (?sp) which is NOT a part of any specific diet but some folks use it for treats.

If you are interested in the Original HPW the instructions can be found here:

http://www.gliderdad79.com/hpw.php

For information on Peggy's HPW Plus (made the same way as Original HPW) or HPW Complete (a add water only product) you can read about these here:
