It really depends on how gently you blow as well as the glider's personality. For some of them, it will just make them mad. But one of mine that was a nipper, I found (by accident) that when I made the 'tsst' sound at her, she would also get a puff of air from me. She didn't jump or startle or flinch back, she would just look up, like it gently changed her focus to 'what was that?'
Initially, just the sound didn't work, but whenever she was nipping and was already closer to my face and I did it, she would stop. Once I realized that the combo of the sound and the puff of air stopped her, that's what I did. Eventually, just the sound worked because she also expected that puff of air.

Lulu responds well to blowing, she stops and usually gets away from me. Meanwhile, Echo will look at me then keep biting or something. My boyfriend (who she usually bites) will tsst or blow on her up to three times....nothing.
Blow, look, bite, Blow, look, bite, Blow, look, bite HARD
I think she bites more just to show us up!

Yup... Jasper does that when he's grooming me. He'll start digging and won't listen to my psst noise, so I'll add a puff of air. It only makes him dig harder, as evident by this nice gouge I have between my finger right now. I eventually have to redirect his focus to something else. Stubborn jerk. Just like his momma, lol.

I agree with Kathryn. I swear they ignore me on purpose when I make the tsk noise to annoy me

Bastien has decided that if I'm wearing the wrong fabric, or if he just happens to be near my inner thigh, arm pit, or stomach, he needs to clamp on to me. Lisa said it might be a hormonal/puberty thing even though he's neutered. He's the sweetest little boy otherwise, but he will clamp on and start digging. "Pssst" does nothing. I can barely even pry him from my skin sometimes, but I have to scoop him up and hold him in my hands for a second. Shiloh is almost always very courteous and stops to look at me when I go "pssst!" almost as if to say "Oh, sorry, didn't realize that was bothering you."
I generally don't do the blowing thing, because "psst" is effective on one, and nothing seems to be effective on the other, haha.
Sadie's just a sweetheart and never bites. She will nip on occasion to say "Noooooo. I don't like that, put me down!" when putting her back in the cage, but most of the time that's more like her just resting her teeth on you rather than actually *biting.* She was super anti-social (skittish, not aggressive) for almost four years and suddenly has been warming up to us. I'm so proud of her!
