i would also like to know who you guys use as a vet, i have a vet that has seen gliders before and knows the basics, he says that if its anything he cant handle there's a glider specialist in columbia (less than an hour from me)

I know it's been a while since everyone posted last, but I'm in Columbia (and a breeder...hi Lynn). Just had two joeys come out of pouch about 2 weeks ago, if anyone is in town and wants to come visit them (or me) everyone is welcome! The joeys won't be ready for a new home for a little while, but I figure the socialization of a fellow glider addict is good for them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I lived in missouri all my life cept one year that I lived in alabama and it wasn't till last year that I knew someone in st. louis that had gliders hehe I got my two for free they are now expecting twins soon I think I didn't know they mated the old owners thought they where both females turns out tigerlilly is just a little tiger. And don't worry they are not mom and son or brother and sister or dad and daughter.

Yes....Will have to come by sometime. I would have to bring along my "gang" though (of humans! LOL) I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old (and pregnant!)....children welcome or do I need to plan it sometime when they will be taken care of by daddy!?

I just wanted to comment on how nice it is (as far as I have seen) that there aren't many glider rescues needed in MO. Maybe I have missed a lot of posts? but from what I can tell...we are doing good! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

anyone know of a good vet near the st. louis area? I have tried one "exotic" vet out here but I really didn't like him as far as the care he gave my baby. He didn't seem very knowledgable for someone who has treated sugargliders before...anyway feel free to PM me if you know of one

Do any of you live near Perryville? There is a pet store in that area who have gliders housed in a fish tank. I could not get the name of the store from the person who called us. They were wanting to buy Joeys and house them in the same way. We told them we wouldn't sell our Joeys to someone knowing they were going to be put in a fish tank. From what they seemed to know about gliders they weren't ready and needed to do a lot more research so we offered them information and other websites to look at, but never heard back from them. I don't think they realised how much of a commitment they really were.

No, I dont even know where that is. That is horrible. Those poor Gliders. I put one of mine in a aquarium for about 10 minutes to clean out the cage before I got a travel carrier for them....and he FREAKED out....I made a quick cleaning job that time. I can't imagine someone using that as the PERMINANT home....how sad

Hello Everyone in Missouri....I'm in Independence and am about to purchase my 1st glider. I have done TONS of research, but i would love to find someone local to buy from then whom i have been talking with. I have read some posts and see there are a few in the Mo area...anyone have any babies that will be ready in the next few weeks?

I've been meaning to post this forever. Have any of you been to the st.louis zoo and seen the sugar glider exhibit. Its like a 20 gallon fish tank in a wall near the darwin robot. Its really sad looking I mean they did a wonderful job filling it with real kind of ground and stuff but it looks like they where feeding them cat or ferret food and their was only one glider. Anyone else seen and have a opion on it?

Hi to everyone! I am so glad to find this site. I am an newbie in St. Peters, just outside of St. Louis. We are looking for a new family member to love and spoil. Really hard to find one around here! For the past 12 years I have been raising orphaned Wildlife for release. But due to health problems I had to stop. My friend had a Suggie and I was in LOVE!
