I have been feeding the Pricilla Price diet and I agree with my vet that my gliders are a little on the small side. They are all in the 70s. She suggested that I feed them more mealworms but I would like to get to the root of the problem. I leave plenty of food in there so they have left overs. I also keep pellets and monkey biscuits in there as a mid day snack. What diets did you see your gliders thrive on/become a healthy weight? I've already tried BML and they didn't like it. Their coats are also gorgeous and shiny on Pricilla Price and I love making it, I would hate to change diets but I want to do the best by them.

First of all we need to find out what YOU think an adequate weight is for your gliders. You see, gliders come in all different sizes just like us people. Some are more petite and some are more fluffy. Some exercise a lot and some are couch potatoes (or should we say pouch potatoes in this case). I have gliders here and they are all thriving on the my HPW™ diets. With that in mind please know my smallest girl Fauna only weighs in at 67grams. Largest I could ever get her. She is in great health and yes, she looks very tiny compared to my other crews. Weights range in my home from 67grams up to 187grams. Males85 125 147 108 104 118 111 143 94 187 131 81 104 174 Females84 116 85 121 86 81 67 148 110 101 151 98 101 113 I guess what I am trying to say is if your gliders appear as though they are thriving and your vet says they are good, they eat fine, they are active, coats look good, eyes are bright, dont be so focused on the number of the scale. Do continue to weigh them and make sure they are maintaining their weights but dont stress over it. HTH

Thanks Peggy, good advice. I'm just a worrier. They all seem very active, bright eyes, etc. I'm not a very experienced glider owner and my exotic vet has worked very closely with gliders so I trust her opinion that they are a little too thin. They also *seem* that way to me but I cannot tell for sure.
