I've had my 3 girls for about 4 months now, and they are still biting me. I make the tsk sound and I believe they laugh at me lol I'm not exactly sure why they are biting, I don't believe they are trying to hurt me, they don't draw blood or anything. When I have them out for play time, when I least expect it I feel a bite on the back of my leg "ouch"... I had them out yesterday, they were being so sweet, until one bit me on the tender part of my arm next to my arm pit. Ya wanna talk about ouch, yeah it hurt. When I'm talking to them and giving them treats at the cage I'll be feeding one while another sneaks up and nips the back side of my arm. Oh they love toes too lol they don't act scared or anything, I did get them when they were about a year old. They have no problem climbing on me but they still don't want me to hold them, they will let me pet them all day, just not hold them. I love my babies and again I don't think they are trying to hurt me, but they do...any suggestions?

It may be something that passes over time, or they may be nippers.
Sorry, I'm at work, it's nap time so a little down time for a short while until I have to get back to work, lol. But the after school kids are half day today and I may have to quickly leave the computer, so I didn't finish.
My Ollie boy is a nipper, I've had him for over a year and a half now, I'm not sure how many homes he had prior, but I know the ones before the one that re-homed him to me were not much to be desired. The one I homed him from was a good home, but I've forgotten how long she had him. He is a good boy for the most part, but will nip out of the blue. Lulu was my fierce biter, she has settled down to more of a nip when she doesn't like something like my Skadoosh has always been. They all have different personalities, I'd say the one that would be the nippiest out of my three would be Ollie, than Lulu, and thirdly Skadoosh. The more I can spend time with them, the better they seem, but if time lapses as it can sometimes between "out of cage" play, they seem to get a little more skittish and more apt to nip. This is how mine are, so maybe you will notice changes in yours over time.

It is also possible that they like the smell of your soap or moisturizer.
I know that Tucker likes cucumber melon soap.

My ittybit will nip @ me, & I would take it as she is letting me know she is scared. Until you are thoroughly bonded, they may continue, you're doing good if their not drawing blood, so this is encouraging to read, & you to experience. Sometimes they will be moody, too. Just as we are, & blood may be drawn, but soon you will be feeling those bites less & less. The key is to continue to be patient, sit & talk to them whenever possible. Have you read the guidelines that Bourbon wrote, it's somewhere up there almost on the top of this page. She has done a really good job for new ones to look @ themselves from a gliders point of sight. It may take months, or it may not, but once they are bonded to you, you will know it, to feel it. This feeling is something so soothing, you will be pleased, & they will grow up to be healthy little gifts from God.

Thank you all so much, your words are very encouraging! I'm gonna continue to be patient with the girls, they have actually come a long way. When I first got them I believe they were out for blood, now, not so much but the nips still don't feel good and scare me to death when I don't see it coming lol I can't wait for the day that I can just reach in the cage and they come to me to get them out. Since I have had them I've had to wait till they go in a pouch to sleep so I can just take out the pouch for out of cage time, and since they are sleepy they are not as roudy. We have definitely come a long way but still have a long way to go. They say patience is a vertu!
Thanks again!

I learned with my two girls not to flinch. Fiona used to nip and Dot went for blood.
They are going to turn a year old very soon, and don't bite anymore. We get nips or grabs once in awhile, but it's to be expected.
Mine gave up on biting when I learned not to flinch. Or squeal. And tsking worked on Dot but not Fiona.
Dawn Be patient, and Trust your journey.... Grace Ruby Mom Dad Fiona, Dot and Stewie wish I could turn back time... Miss you

They definitely act like some snotty teenagers for sure, lol. The lady I got them from said they are all about to turn a year old now. I really don't believe they are biting to hurt, despite their intentions it still does lol. I get their sleeping pouch out of the cage and slide it into a bonding pouch and carry them around as much as I can. At night when they first wake up I have been able to open the cage door to feed them meal worms. Most of the time they will let me pet them while they eat. Also they will lick yogurt off my finger. I believe they are giving me signs that they are ready for me to pick them up, but I don't want to freak them out. When I have the cage open should I just hold my hand open to them and let them come to me? They dont act scared at all when we play in the tent. I would just love to be able to pick them up and love on them without being in the tent or keeping them in a pouch all the time, I want to thank you all for your encouragement I really appreciate it!

Yes thank you very much! I'm doing the same thing with my girls, I get their pouch out and let them come out on their own. It just gets frustrating when I watch videos of other gliders and see them be so lovable with their owners. I wreckin we will continue to take one day at a time ;-)
