Hi so I am a new Suggie owner of just under a week. My babies are eating and drinking alright and bonding in the pouch is going well. However, my male glider (who was neutered about 2 weeks ago) for the past 2 times he's been in the bonding pouch he has come out soaked in urine; they've only been in the pouch 4 total times and he has done this the past 2. My female glider who is in there with him, and generally has a calmer/less skittish temperament thus far (she has even taken treats out of my hand 3 times already while he tends to sit in a corner and watch), comes out completely dry. Should I be concerned over why he is sopping in urine? Is he just marking his territory or something? Is there a way to stop him from doing this? It has already soaked through the bonding pouch and my shirt the 2 times he's done it. They have been in the pouch for 3-7 hours each time with a slice of apple, but it is definitely urine not apple juice that has soaked him. Thank you! I appreciate your help! Did he do this before you had him neutered?
If he didn't you may want to take him in and have him checked for a urinary tract infection.
None of mine pee in the pouch. He could be marking her, but if he didn't do this behavior before neutering, I would rule out a UTI.

Are you transferring them directly from their sleeping pouch to the bonding pouch? They have been in the pouch for 3-7 hours each time with a slice of apple, Gliders often need to pee when they first wake up and if he has been soundly asleep then moved to the confined bonding pouch he may just need to pee - but has no place to go. Seven hours confined in the pouch may also just be a longer time than he can wait to pee. Try giving your gliders a few minutes out of their sleeping pouch in the cage to relieve themselves before putting them in the bonding pouch. Take him out of the pouch every few hours to give him another chance to go. Gliders also use pee to mark their humans as their own. He may just go in the pouch because he cannot get to your shoulder or the middle of your back to go. (My gliders FAVORITE places to pee on me.)
