Hi guys! Just a quick question! I bought my boys Falkor and Truce, both neutered males about three weeks ago and they are both still young. Falkor is 3-4 months and Truce is 4-5. Truce is very lovey now, and doesn't nip anymore; however my boy Falkor is a little nipper bottom.

He still crabs in his pouch at us once in awhile, but he doesn't do it long and then comes to explore us once he realizes it's me and my boyfriend. One minute he'll run up to us and give us small grooming, but then he always does this nipping thing where he starts off soft, and then keeps nipping and each nip gets harder and harder and this morning he broke the skin on my thumb. We have tried blowing some air on him, but he just jumps back and then comes right back to do it again and we have tried making a "Tssst" noise. The Tsst worked for Truce and Truce never bites anymore, he only licks and then goes about his business.

Is it just because Falkor is young? They had their wellness exam this past Saturday and he didn't bite or nip the vet at all in fact she enjoyed both of them immensely. Is it me? I refrain from wearing any scented items and I always rinse my hands before handling them. I have tried lickie treats with him but he still nips after licking. I still love him though! ^^ Just need some explanation.

sounds like he is still in the terrible two's. LOL

The best thing is to distract him before he gets to nipping. If your playing with him distract him with a toy or feather.

Hopefully he will outgrow this stage quickly for you.

Be patient.

Distracting seems to work and his nipping isn't so bad anymore! He still lightly nips a few times, but now quits and then lets me rub his little head for a bit before he bounces away. Gah These creatures are so amazing ^^

Good to hear. Those nips can really hurt sometimes.
