Hello.
My female just passed away and I found its preme on the tray. I really doubt this is possible but I know it is possible with other mammals. I have 2 more females, one has never had a baby the other was surrendered to me so I dont know if she had one or not but is it possible to place the baby with one of them and theyll be able to feed him? I know some mammals can start lactating by being around a baby in need but are sugar gliders one of those? At this current time I am feeding him every 30min during the day and every hr at night. He is furless and his ears are still back. I also have him in a heated aquarium because i cannot take him to work with me. While im at work my father is feeding him.

It is unlikely that another female would begin to produce milk for the joey.

It is my understanding that a joey in pouch that has been dislodged from the nipple too young cannot reattach because it does not have the jaw development to do so.

Another female MIGHT accept the joey and help keep it warm, clean and maybe even stimulate the joey to pee and poop, but you would still need to feed the joey around the clock until it is developed to the stage it would have detached from the nipple to be officially OOP.

I would not leave the joey with another glider unless someone is close by to make sure the adult does not harm the joey.

Sadly the joey passed away while I was at work today. frown My father called to let me know when he tried to feed him again. Thank you for your replies.
