Do gliders calm down as they get older? As much as I love Artemis's antics, it's like having a two year old that's just chugged a two liter of Pepsi. At this rate he will never know that a world beyond his cage and the bathroom exist. We don't have quiet snuggle time. Not even in the middle of the day. He's always ready to play. I'm sure a lot of it is his personality and he will always be my little rascal, but it would be nice to know that some of that energy will disappear with time. Don't get me wrong, I love him as he is. He is a lot of fun and provides us with a lot of stories to share with family and friends.

How old is Artemis?
Some gliders will slow down with age, specially if they gain weight as they age.
I have one rescue here that came in at the age of 8 or 9, she has been with me for over 3 years now and she is still a pistol.

Artemis is still young. He's 20 weeks OOP. We just had an eventful night last night in the bathroom. He was everywhere and having a great time exploring. The bathroom is safe for him and we keep a careful watch. He's just really busy. I'm not complaining, but I would like to be able to have more snuggle time with him at some point.

He's just a youngster full of vim and vigor. You certainly don't want him to calm down for a very long time  however, he should sleep during the day.
If he wakes when you attempt to carry him in a bonding pouch, it might be a good idea to allow him to sleep in his cage until he is a bit older because he really needs his rest during the day to stay healthy.
Is he neutered? If not, you might consider having this done. Does he have a cagemate?

He is neutered and has a cagemate -Holly.
We don't usually carry them around during the day. When we do it's because we know we won't be able to have them out in the evening.
I'm not hoping for him to calm down just yet. Holly is quite calm so we feel like we get the best of both worlds between the two of them.

He probably just has a much more active personalty. They are different in that respect just as our human children are 
You may see a difference once he reaches about a year in age. Then again, you may not. Really hard to tell.

I would not be surprised if he stays active. I think it is just part of who he is. I just feel bad that the bathroom is the only place I can trust him to be out and exploring.

My Fevy is almost 9 and he's still a ball of energy, but when he was a young he was incredibly hyper. I think just like puppies and kittens they go through life stages. He mellowed out a bit after around 3, but sometimes he still gets crazy energy spurts.
