I would prefer a stacked vs side by side (space saver) but I am open to any reviews anyone may have.

You could take two HQ cages, the first cage you would leave the front bar off the stand and set the cage right on the shelf and zip tie it to the stand.
Do not put the top on the cage when assemble it. When you assemble the second cage leave the top off of that one.
Then zip tie the grate on the second one so that it doesn't slide, I would also use at least one zip tie on the bottom cage grate for the same reason.
Take the second cage and flip it upside down so that the tops are together and zip tie it to each other, use at least a minimum of two zip ties per side.
