These two butter beans have been enjoying the sunshine today. I've been out on vacation and they're both very happy to have Mommy home again. Mostly kitty is happy because she gets such bad separation anxiety when I leave her. Fev is just grumbly and hyper. Also greeted me by raking his nails down my sun burnt back/shoulder. Such a gentleman.

Aww thank you guys! He's such a good adventure buddy. And thanks, Terry! I had no clue my name was even in that contest, let alone winning until about 3 days into voting when I happened to look at it. It was a nice surprise and I sure could use a year's worth a pet food for my fluffies!

Fevy had a visit from his little friend today. My friend has a two-year-old son who's absolutely adorable and loves animals. Fevy is very chill and lets his little buddy pet and hold him (with supervision). Well, today, he comes running inside and immediately shouts for Fevy and goes to pick up Fevy's poof bag sitting on the table (with Fev inside it). His mother was like "I did not actually know he knew Fevy's name." It was pretty cute. In my defense, I don't know anything about kid proofing so I set Fevy on top of a bookcase (Fevy was sleeping in his pouch by then) that I thought kiddo couldn't reach. In the few minutes he was alone in the living room and Mom and I were talking in my room, kiddo comes running back into my room suddenly, holding Fevy who is completely chilling in his hands. He hands Fevy to me and tells me "Fevy." While I realize this could have been a potentially dangerous situation and I will certainly take better precautions in future (there was a split second of panic from both of us), I could not stop laughing. Still have no idea how this suggie-toddler friendship happened. Toddler was only out of sight for a second. I'm shocked that Fevy didn't even crab.

These lil nuggets just won a year's worth of pet food! Thank you so much for voting for my dog park name! It's been an expensive year for vet bills, so free pet food for the rest of it will be just awesome! Plus, my kitty has to be on a special diet that I can only get at Dee-Oh-Gee so she is super excited. They recently added a small pet section, so Fevy might be able to get a bag of yoggies at least to share in the victory. Thank you, thank you! So excited!

Tis awesome how Fevy is just calm with others, especially children. So far mine have been good with visitors when I'm standing right there, but with the exception of my ex-gf, if I walk away they leap for the cage or to follow me. These lil nuggets just won a year's worth of pet food! That's great! Congrats!!! I keep forgetting to ask, where did you get that poof-ball? I really enjoy your stories & pics, please keep 'em coming Hope you've started working on that children's book, I have a (niece or nephew) on the way who I need to start corrupting early

I did win, Terry! I'm so excited. I won't get my free swag until the 10th though. Hutch, unfortunately my cat does not feel the same way about toddlers. She's fine with older kids, but babies and toddlers terrify her. I got the poof ball on ebay actually! For some reason I can't find them now but I know I favorited them on my home computer. I just typed in sugar glider pouch and found a seller that makes them in all different colors (Fevy has gone through three... they are good quality though, it's just that he eventually starts "digging" up the lining in his pouches). He loves them and goes to his poof over any other pouch! Plus it doubles as a turtle shell/dress for when he doesn't want to come fully out of his poof. Haha, I have not started it yet but I did just start my creative writing MFA program this week so maybe that will be my eventual thesis or something.

Haha, I'll see what I can do on the children's book. Small update that I am stupidly excited about; Feverstone gets to help me cut the ribbon for the new dog park on the 10th! I'm spazzing over this. I will bring several body guards to make sure no dogs get close enough to eat him. He will be such a happy suggie!

Here is Fevy in his moment of glory! He was a bit underwhelmed and didn't really appreciate the hot sun. He did get to keep the ribbon after, which he shredded. Good day all around. Not to be one upped by her brother's fame, my cat destroyed a "cat friendly practice" sign at the vet today. Oh, irony... She hid in a towel after she got kicked out of the cat friendly room (due to there being broken glass everywhere)...

Haha, Fevy's face says, "Why am I here?" While the cat looks like she's trying to play innocent!

Haha, Fevy was not into the park naming at all! Gliders are like kids - some days they just ain't into it. He wanted to go back to my nice, cool, dark office and sleep in his pouch.
Hari is just plain evil in a cute package, like most cats. :D She has no shame at all.

Got some good news post vet visit. My little kitty had to have pretty major surgery back in February, but her blood tests came back normal so it looks like it worked! I came across this pic of her when she was maybe six months. I think this was when she started to realize she was officially an apartment cat and no longer a barn kitten.

Thanks, Hutch! It was quite the relief!
I went to SLC Comic Con over the weekend and left the fluffballs with their very attentive and kind aunt. She sent me an E-mail saying Fevy hadn't eaten his food when she got there and it looked like sweet potatoes (his fav) so she was concerned. I wrote back "oh that was a papaya actually, he doesn't eat those, he just vampirizes them. But thanks for checking!" Her response was justifiably confused so I explained that he is a sap sucker and certain fruits he likes to drain their fruity blood and leave the skin/materials so it can appear like he didn't eat, but he did. Papayas are his favorite fruit to vampirize and also mangoes. :|
On the plus side, Fevy was super happy and cuddly when I came home. He usually won't come out of his cage if I'm not home, but this time he actually socialized with his auntie without me! Never done this before so I'm glad. He was much less hyper and grumbly as a result. XD
Kitty not so much... she acted like she hadn't seen a human being in decades and sat on my suitcase so I'd never leave her again.

Thanks, Hutch! They are cuties.
My cat has this weird quirk where she "buries" her food sometimes. For instance, I'll give her a treat or put her food bowl on the kitchen floor and sometimes instead of eating it, she'll sniff it and then "dig" around it until it's "buried." Like an arctic fox trying to save it's food for the winter. It's very odd because she goes into almost a trance-like state when she does this.
Well, I just gave her and Fevy cheerios. She buried hers, then jumped on the coffee table where poor Fevy was eating his and tried to "bury" Fevy. :| She just sorta stood over him and dug imaginary dirt around him. Not sure if I should be concerned about Hari apparently wanting to bury her brother (and his cheerio) alive.

Awww, kitty wanted to save Fevy for the winter so she'll have a ski buddy, tee-hehe.
I've never seen a cat bury food before, that is funny.

Maybe they think it's a way of keeping their tiny siblings safe. What a goofball. I love dalmatians. Hutch, I hadn't either before Hari. She's an odd kitty. She loves to play in snow and dig in it. Dirt or sand too. She's a housecat, but sometimes I take her outside for adventures. When she doesn't have anything to dig in, she just paws at the air or floor and "buries" things with a very serious look on her face. Maybe it's a mommy issues thing... she's also super strange about kneading and trying to suck on things. It's like she goes into a weird "trance" and will sit there purring and doing her lil making dough dance on a random blanket for a good half hour. o_O She was taken from her mama a bit too young because the mama cat wasn't really into the whole motherhood thing. Guess that's how Hari deals with her personal issues.
