I like the critter nation/all things living.
assemblies easy / great quality / LARGE front doors that open the whole front / easily expandable (I now have 3 cages combined together for a 6 foot x 6 foot cage for 6 gliders).

We got a Brisbane cage with the last set of gliders. It's a good cage, but small doors limit access, looks very hard to expand, would need to buy a bigger cage if you wanted more gliders or bigger colony. It's still a good cage but I would pick the critter nation over it for sure.

As BYK mentioned the Critter Nation or rebranded All Living Things (they are the same cage)are good choices and preferred by many for reasons mentioned.

HQ cages are also very popular, the Brisbane (as mentioned) or HQ Sturdy cage are the same, and plenty roomy, but would be difficult to expand, at least using stands. The doors on these cages are a good size, although when compared with the full doors on CN/ALT cages, then they seem considerably small. If you have the space for the same "footprint" as the Brisbane/Sturdy, but want a larger cage then there is the Congo or HQ Large Sturdy cage, again pretty much the same, but read description and look at photos for some differences. These are very large cages, not sure in comparison to the CN/ALT cage, but large. They also have sizable doors (fit large wheels and furnishings in as well), but again next to the CN/ALT the doors will not seem so big.

I personally have had the Madagascar cage, smaller footprint, but taller that the Brisbane, offering quite a bit more space, but still not as much as the Congo. I now currently have the HQ Large Sturdy, and am very satisfied with it so far, I have had it since March 2014, and it moved across country with me, lol.

I recommend looking at all of these cages, considering your budget and space available as well as location and make a decision based on your personal preference.

So we might be in the market for a new cage are the Critter Nation cages expandable to 3 high, is that what I am seeing online, is that accurate?

Can they be expanded sideways as well in any way?

I, myself, favor the cages with the one single door. The ones with the epoxy coating I have on my site. I have been slowly changing ALL of my cages over to them...

We have put 3 cages ,critter nation, together as one. one cage is 4 foot by 3 foot. we put 1/2 a cage on top, very easy, and we had 2 cages 6 foot tall and 3 foot wide. Then I removed center walls and tie wrapped the cages together for a total cage of 6 foot by 6 foot. You just want to tie wrap it tight so they is no large gaps. Over all it was not to difficult.
I have pictures on another website, but don't know if I can say here or not, and posting here requires more posting skill.

I have a double critter nation for mine and I absolutely adore it! It is easy to clean. Very sturdy and I love how huge the doors are, I never have to worry if something is going to fit!

Are the Critter nation / All living things cages able to be modified? I kinda want a new cage similar to the 2-story minus the separating floor. So many choices.. makes my head spin.

I don't have the center piece installed. I left it OUT. it is one big open cage. I used the center piece on the bottom outside cage bars and tie wrapped in on..(at bottom). this gave me a place to put the poo/pee tray on the outside of cage. I bought a second cage and put only HALF of it on top so it is 3 doors tall. So I would say the critter nation cage can be modified some. The new cage I got with the new gliders is a Brisbane, it looks to be GOOD quality, roomy, and has 2 smaller doors. It does NOT look like you can modify it, and the smaller doors might limit the size of something you can put in it. BUT the tray does come installed on bottom OUTSIDE of cage, so no change needed for the pee/poo tray.

I hope you can clarify - your 6'x6' setup is two of the cages, each with the single level addition on top, put together with the center side panels left out to create one cage? So in total, you purchased two double cages and two level additions to create this cage?

Reason being, I am searching for a large, high quality cage to match my parrot cages. I would prefer a matching cage but the cages I have for my birds have 1" bar spacing, plus they run $899 each, which would be fine except they simply won't work with that bar spacing.

I used 3 critter nation cages. depending on the sale price they run $175 to $250. So I spent about $650 total.

the third cage is split and put on top.

Thank you! This is precisely what I will do, and then add some decent beefy casters on the bottoms. This will make them as tall as our other cages. We have one of the first pic and two of the second pic. The bar spacing is 1" so unfortunately we can't get matching cages for our sugar gliders.

Just purchased the Congo cage from Exotic Nutrition and just love it. It was a like $198. and the shipping was only $26. What I really like about it (and why I decided on this one) was because it has two huge doors with nice locks. It was pretty easy to put together. The only problem I had was that it wouldn't line up with the holes on the cart that it sits on. We got some longer screws and were able to attach one side but the other side just wasn't lined up right. Cricket & Zen love are having a blast in their new home. Very happy with the purchase
