When traveling across state or national borders where Gliders are prohibited, I find it helpful to keep a couple of frozen feeder rats in the RV. Get the big, fully grown ones, as you would feed to a big snake.

Allow plenty of time as you approach the border crossing and slide your gliders into their bonding pouch with a handful of yogi treats and a few fleece blankets soaked in fruity-flavored Extra Strength Nyquil.

Place dead rats in suggie cage and cover cage with a blanket.

If your RV is searched and you are asked if you are carrying any live animals you can direct the constable to your babies...

Break down into hysterics when you discover them dead.

Constable should drop the issue and leave quickly.

For more punch you can pose them in death. I like the "Romeo Discovers Juliet at the Altar" pose myself...

Remember to allow plenty of time for rats to thaw---or if re-heating in the microwave, do not overcook. Rats that are partially cooked or still-frozen, blow the whole thing.

Also...dressing them in little costumes blows it.

I had the suggies with me when I traveled through California and got super nervous when we had to stop at the border crossing. Thank goodness all they asked was if we had fresh fruit. Phew!

Most border crossings are going to be more about fruit and plants, that small pets. But I would still cover them, but don't lie about them if they are found. Just say you are passing through the state.
