I got 99 problems and the temp ain't one.

Aria is spread-eagle on top of a pile of blankets inside the incubator. She's reading a tiny copy of Mommy Dearest and shopping online.

The dogs keep trying to spoon the propane heater, but other than the occasional burst of dog hair smoke, no problem.

Mom, Dad and Arrow evidently generate enough snuggle heat that they are armored against the cold in their pouch. They don't even appear to notice the cold.

Place looks like the inside of a giant marshmallow. I had every stitch of cloth stuffed in every crack. Every way to generate heat was in play--even which lights were on.

It worked last night--and tonight should be 6 degrees easier. Man I gotta get to Arizona!

As soon as everyone is keeping up their own body heat, I am going to try and re-intro Aria to the family--get this circus down to one cage.

Mom is the only problem so far. Justin and her brother sometimes visit Aria in the incubator, and everyone is lovey.

GRRR...And the feeling of a fresh turd rolling down my back reminds me--yay! Aria is pooping and peeing all on her own now!

You mentioned the grand canyon. My sister lived there for 8 years. It's in the mountains and easily has Denver climate. You might want to head to Tucson or Yuma.

LadyMagyver hey! Yes, the Grand Canyon is on my list. As the first official destination of the "New Life" I figured I would do a combo trip: BucketList/Treasure Hunting
The area between Phoenix and Flagstaff has a lot of GPAA claims, and the Grand Canyon is on the list so...that's how I came to that destination.
I won't be setting a long term camp in the Grand Canyon National Park...will be quite a bit south of there--closer to Phoenix.
Hopefully, it will be warmer than here. Been pulling the weather on Phoenix AZ and it's consistently better by 10-12 degrees than here. Haha....right now, I am at 28...Phoenix is at 61.
Mmmmm...61...
Unless anyone has any other ideas better than Grand Canyon/Phoenix for a combo Tourist/Treasure trip. I'm open to ideas. :-)

Mama and Aria just had a face to face. I was petting Aria, and Frisby flew down from the overhead storage.
Landed on my back. They sniffed each other's faces and quickly turned away and went on with their business.

I think if I can get Aria to where she doesn't NEED anything from Frisby, we can try a re-intro.

I would give her a few more weeks. Once they are 8 weeks I would pull the little brother and put him with his sis for a week then introduce them back to the parents.

That will give momma time to dry up and the little man time to get nursing off of his mind.

Things may go smoother that way.

Feather hey!
I am all on board with that advice.
But I had to move the ship. In the process of doing that, we had a little accident with the camper's slide-out system...

"3P0! Shut down all garbage compactors on the detention level!"

...and everyone ended up in the same cage... (Critter Nation Model 162 still my favorite--this was not its fault)

Than that became, the same pouch...
They has been half a day in the same pouch by the time I got the rig back into place and everything patched back up--so I just decided to let it ride.

And so far so good...

Actually this whole time I have been stealing Arrow from mom and dad and giving him some incubator time with his sister...

Then...we had the Rent-A-Dad program where I would steal daddy for this purpose...

Then came the "SuperDad" Program where Justin had both kids in the incubator.

(Justin has really stepped up to the plate. He stopped drinking and he quit hanging around with those gophers from across the tracks.)
Justin is now a great Dad. Probably a story there...dunno. Happy to see it though!

And finally we had the "Bad Mommy" Program--where we would actually lock mommy *out* of the cage for the day and let the rest of them hang out inside.
(No real skin off mom's back--she's started drinking and hanging with the gophers across the tracks.) :-(

So for a while now, the only one who Aria hasn't been continually maintaining contact with, has been mom.

So it worked out. Thankfully.

Incidentally. If you ever need to crack a coconut--or say--a bowling ball--get it stuck between the slides of your camper.

So far it's working. They are all one big (mostly) happy family. No bites. Positive snuggling, peaceful sleep.
I can't tell if mom is allowing Aria to nurse, but Aria's fur has recently started to thicken up substantially.
Currently Aria is coming out of the pouch on her own to take solid foods and lap up liquid nectar. She's even eating chicken. Arrow still nursing mostly--Aria is way ahead in this dept.
She's going to be a snuggle-bucket. She likes to sleep on my shoulder. :-)
