Wondering if there is a guideline on how warm the room needs to be for gliders? I have heard that should be a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius (about 76F). Is this true? My house is not kept that warm. Should I get them a heat lamp?

Glamper, hi! I think I can speak to this one. Just had this battle myself.
They can take more that you can.
If you and you are ok with the temp, they will be too.

I agree with Commerade .

What is their room temp? A heat lamp isn't necessary unless it is extremely cold. Then placement should be where they can move away from it if it gets too warm.

If you are comfortable without wearing a ton of layers they will be comfortable too.

I would also use double fleece pouches and not the fleece with cotton on the outside for winter.

Where I live now it is very warm, were I used to live she kept the house very cold so it was about 65 down stairs where the gliders and I slept.

THanks everyone for the great information! to answer your question Dawn, the house is generally 68F/20F in the winter and 70-71F (22C) in the summer.

they seem to take more naps at night now. thinking its because of the shorter days/longer nights and colder temps.?

thanks again!

I think maybe seasonal changes seem to affect how much they sleep.

Mine are sleeping more too. I've tried changing out their reset toys and it helps.

68deg should be fine.

I'm working through a similar issue. I'll get into more detail in my on-going thread, but the short of it is: getting up way later, napping more, but also not going to bed until later in the morning. I'm hoping its a combo or season, light, & they don't give a glider-pellet about daylight savings time... but time will tell.

What about while they are young? I heard until they are 6 months older or more, to keep at least 70F, preferably 72F or higher

I am in an apartment and the room the gliders in stays about 72 to 80 in the summer and 75 to 85 in the winter depending on the sun.

If you are worried about them being cold give them some 5x5 pieces of fleece in their sleeping pouch.

In our home or RV, our temps can range from 60° to 85+°. It can get lower or higher sometimes in extreme conditions. As long as they have appropriate bedding for the temps, I don't think 70- 72° as a low is necessary. Most will say the safe range is between 68- 80°.

I agree with Feather here too. Blankies help.
