okay, IM not endorsing promoting, bashing or whatevering any specific diet.

BUT when i was young i had my first gliders, i had a book on them and that was it. we diudn't have all this MASSIVE diet CONTROVERSY

i , in my location am able to easily access exotic nutrition sugar glider supplies/foods ect.

it seems there is a very bad rep on this, why? is it okay for me to use this?

i usually feed the HPW in a jar, (pre made) paired with pellets in the cage all day, and a few insects fresh fruits and veggies at night with a spoon of the prepared HPW

occasionally i add a nbit of the extra calcium supplememnt, the pellets are suppose to have some formulated in, and i dont want to overdose.

but is this acceptable? ive never had health problems with my gliders but looking into what other people are doing i feel the need to ask

Current Research, Studies & Resources

Some of the exotic nutrition products are scary, the stuff in the jar being the scariest.

They have not done any testing or studies on their diets. They created the Instant HPW and the stuff in the jar to compete with the Critterlove products.

I only recommend Critterlove products, which include Critterlove Plus, Critterlove Complete, Critterlove breeders Formula, Critterlove Lo-Cal and Critterlove Original formerly known as HPW or Original HPW (OHPW) and BML (Bourbon's Modified Leadbeaters). Those diets have all had diets studies and are currently being tested or have been tested.

The only kibble I recommend is Pet Pro Happy Glider Pellets, my gliders prefer the breeders formula.

There are several other diets out there, the ones above are the ones that I recommend and I use Critterlove myself.

The bottom line with any diet is if your gliders won't eat it then it isn't the diet for you.

IMHO Exotic Nutrition's Instant HPW and the stuff in the jars are not safe and I do not recommend them.

okay, i will check out their products, another question i have is my local pet shop wants to try to get a license for selling gliders and is looking into the best food options, does anyone know if it is legal to mix up the hpw cubes and sell them with the gliders if they did? they need something they can use that is healthy but also sell in the store.

I doubt seriously this would be legal. In addition, once the Critterlove is mixed, it should be kept either frozen, refrigerated or immediately fed at room temperature. That does not lend itself to what you are wanting to do.

This is really a question for Critterlove creator, Peggy.

If you send me your local pet stores name and address I can send them a care package about the Critter Love® products. If they would like to start carrying it on their shelves, we would be happy to help them get started.

In Texas (at least back in 2006-2010) when I had my pet store, a license was not required to sell gliders individually, only if you were going to breed. If the owner is selling animals, they should already have a license to sell.

they don't currently sell gliders, only exotic nutrition line supplies, but have a good market i see, selling out often, with the bad rep I'm just exploring other options. i work for them, and can make suggestions but can make no final decisions for them hahaha

she has no interest in breeding any animals period what so ever

and they are currently going through the inspection and licensing process to see if its something they will actually do,

If she has no pets, no license is required....

As I stated, if you send me the stores information (name address and who is the purchase manager) I will send them out information on how to get Critter Love® products in their store and on their shelves.
