Free Like the Wind!
I don't know if it's the full moon or what, but my gliders have gone absolutely wild tonight.

After a mellow day, including a few hours of my hand in the pouch while they were sleeping, they awoke around the usual time. The first odd thing I noticed was that Jabberwinky's tail was making strange movements, as was her behind as well. She was going all over the cage apparently scent-marking the bars.

Then Yoda got in on the act too. Both of them darting around the cage at hyper-speed, stopping only long enough to rub their behinds against the bars.

They are not interested in coming out of the cage, and shy away when I open the door to put my hand in the cage - both very unusual behaviors for these two. They're in there right now moving a lot faster and sharper than normal. No crabbing or other signs of distress (and Jabberwinky tends to be very vocal), just gliders gone wild.

Any idea what's going on? The male (Yoda) is neutered, so I wouldn't think it's a hormonal thing, but I don't know...

I would say it was the full moon. My guys don't eat as much when it is a full moon.

Guess they need to get squirrely now and then.

They are quite a bit calmer this morning, but still rather jumpy. And when I went to cleanup their food from last night, more than half of the nectar was left over, which never happens.

I think you've just confirmed Moon Madness, Feather! smile

My trio was a bit more argumentative the past couple of nights as well, but seem to be eating just fine dunno not much deters them from food, unless it's food they don't like, lol.
