Because Comerade, you are curious, and you care...
The three of us are kindred spirits, and you might be able to learn something here...
I might tell Stef the rest of my secrets to living on the road...
Maybe she can teach us a thing or two...
And Hutch, he is curious. Wants to see which is better, a class "A" , a standard 5th wheel, or a 5ver toyhauler roving the US... He will retire someday, and maybe come back and give it a try...
Dawn Be patient, and Trust your journey.... Grace Ruby Mom Dad Fiona, Dot and Stewie wish I could turn back time... Miss you

I think we're going to have to have an RV/Glider convergence! I know that Comrade is currently in the SW, and I'm in the NW, but where do your travels usually take you, Dawn? Please do share your secrets with me! I have much to learn... Join us, Hutch!

I'm highly curious and slightly envious RV folks!
What kind of work is available for "work-camping"?
I don't have a lot of qualifications, I'm just a preschool teacher.

Basic computer skills, light maintenance, cleaning, depends on campground. Usually there are 2 sets of hosts to cover for each other. Then there is seasonal work like Amazon.com warehouses. Many people that work from home travel and snowbird depending on RV park WiFi. Crafter's market place on FB started for RVers only. Now it's bigger than that. There is a website, I'll have to browse to find it.

Haha... I have too much crap that I enjoy having around for me to go 100% RV. Besides, I'm more the log-cabin with a nearby runway type.
That said, getting something that a mid-size truck could tow for a family (should I ever be privileged enough to have one) for vacations instead of hotels would be nice. You know Hutch, I'm probably the same, but most of my stuff has been in storage for so long, lol, I'm beginning to feel I won't ever use it again anyway. I'm actually staying in a cabin at a campground for the first time ever next weekend. I'm pretty stoked, but I do miss my pop up camper in a way. I'm thinking if I ever get another camper, it will be an A-frame type. Compact, easy to tow and easy to setup/breakdown. I mostly do weekend camping anyways.

I don't have a lot of qualifications, I'm just a preschool teacher. Terry I finally found the website I was looking for: http://workampingjobs.com/workampingjobs.phpKOA has a website too. There are even places that have an activities director. After working in a preschool, this job should be a snap!

A lot has to do with construction's schedule. We will be in a remodel.

I have to say, this whole full-time RV business is never a dull moment! By sheer force of will (and refusal to accept any other outcome), I achieved my goal of getting out of my condo and on the road within six weeks. I had to make compromises on my plans (the flooring doesn't really need to cover the *whole* floor, does it?), and had to work through many challenges (that darned slide won't close again??), but I got on the road on schedule and arrived at my new job with time to spare. It is so amazingly beautiful up here in the mountains. I'm surrounded by birds, deer, squirrels, and little chipmunks that look like glider wanna-bes. And even better... Yoda and Winky are no longer the only sugar gliders in this forest! Last night a big 5th wheel pulled in next to my site, carrying five sugar gliders, two dogs, and one slightly injured gold prospector.

Good for you It is so amazingly beautiful up here in the mountains. I'm surrounded by birds, deer, squirrels, and little chipmunks that look like glider wanna-bes. I just adore chipmunks. Stanley is what I call all of mine I have one in particular who comes on the deck several times a day for peanuts and sunflower seed hearts. Just adore the little one. And even better...
