my guys are about a year old now, and i think are going through a growth spurt. they also seem to be eating more than they used to. i've noticed their food is gone by 3 am, and they don't go to sleep until around 7. i feel CL Complete and salad mixture. the recommended 2Tbs of salad per glider, and one ice cube of CL complete each night. should I give them extra food, or will this just over stuff them? if i do give them extra, should it be more of the staple, or more of the salad mix??

thx

If they are cleaning everything up you could give them a little more salad.

You can offer a bit more, however, dont be surprised if all of a sudden you find so much more left over. It's not due to a growth spurt as your gliders have been fully grown for some time. It is more like a weather pattern change or the fact that we currently have a full moon, so they eat more the days before and after a full moon.

Hi Peggy,

boy, you were right! they went from licking the bowl clean to barely touching their food. in fact, over the past few days they haven't been eating hardly anything. any idea why? I clipped their nails recently and hit one of the quicks pretty bad...noticed they were scared of me for a few days after. could they be stressed, and therefore not eating?? They love me again now (thank gawd!!) but still not eating much. perhaps time of year? I live near Buffalo, so our seasons change from cold to warm pretty drastically this time of year.

thoughts?

thanks!

Please read this little thing I wrote up a while back.

I suggest you grab a journal and follow along, you will be surprised at how much more you learn your sugar gliders. grin
