My sugar glider Sophia makes weird sounds. SHe is in some kind of distress. I took her to the vet, but he couldn't tell me anything even after I recorded these sounds. Her check up looked normal and so did her poop. She is about 8 years old. And I notice that she lost weight even though her appetite is normal. SHe always had problems with constipation and UTIs (we are managing). But I think this is something else. The vet thinks it's some kind of nervous tick.
Thanks
Please see the video

Is she in with an Intact male?

The noise and her shaking is what mother gliders do to get the joeys to get off the nipple, you will usually here that about a week or less before the joeys are officially OOP.

Here are a couple videos I found. I don't know what to tell you about your little old lady.

Maybe she is wishing she had joeys.

I find it interesting that I also hear noises just like those videos from my furballs. Frequently it is when they're sleeping near the time they'll wake or as they're waking.

Nice video capture kiev44, I haven't managed to grab anything that clear!

Mine make these noises also. They are 3.5 years old and started these noises almost a year ago. I did take them to see the vet, no issues were found. I just listen for it to become agressive, so far, just some spitting afterwards.

I'm still listening though.

Thank you so much. My vet was clueless...he thought it was a nervous tick similar to Parkinson in people. He is a good vet though.
