I asked about an appointment for neutering. I can have it done Tuesday of this coming week. This sort of makes me nervous though. I just see where others have lost their babies due to SM and mine are so sweet. I am backing out at this moment!
They are Caramels which are calmer and apparently more gentle from all I read but also have not been in captivity in the USA that many years.
I am just not sure!
I wonder if they start to have aggression could I separate but then that is risky and they might not bond to a new glider.
They have stopped marking heavily as I have stopped cleaning everything at once and the slight pungent smell is tolerable.
Thoughts? I know I have asked about this before but so very concerned.

I believe there are more success stories than sad ones in regards of neuteres. I strongly recommend going with it and just follow instructions from vet. Many members here have had experience with this can also give you pointers and advice. Wish you the best of luck!

Is your vet doing a laser pom off neuter?

Ask him or her not to shave the gliders tummy. If it is a pom off as him to take it at least 1/8 inch from the belly so the cord closes up and doesn't leave a hole.

No Glue, they tear themselves up trying to get that off. Pom on there shouldn't be any stitches.

Get the stuff to make an e-collar before hand so that you're ready, just in case.

Thanks for the link Dawn, I am postponing for just a bit.
Kimberley, not sure as I did not get to call today-one reason not happening tomorrow. I want to get all that information and ask questions. The person I spoke with on Saturday was the weekend person and I want to speak to someone more familiar with the procedure.
She assured me the vet had done many but want more information.

So, I spent the day working in addition to an emergency trip to the dentist due to a temporary cap "popping off" and this is the third temporary on that tooth within seven days!
Anyway, I did not set up the appointment for neutering on Tuesday and not sure why I chose not to do so as that was my plan.
Played a long time in the tent with my boys and they loved it and so did I. They leapt from the side windows landing on top my head and ran up and down-all over me, only to repeat it all multiple times.
Freddy perched on my neck/shoulder for a long time and they both were so loving today! A few very soft "love bites" but never aggressive. Barney perched on my big toe (I am very ticklish on my feet/toes) and I barely shook my toe and he moved to another area. They were especially sweet today or I just was more aware!

I am so nervous about the entire neutering thing-although I know it is their future best interest! The appointments wont happen next week so I will need to schedule for the following week. I just keep hoping it all goes well!

Fingers crossed! Are you getting lazer? No shaving?

So, the boys are scheduled for Feb. 8th. They will both be neutered. The office has ecollars as they have a client with sugar gliders that makes them.
