So my BF noticed Lilo had like a slit of no hair on the sides of her head. He looked and there with three red dots lined up there. Lilo has been over grooming above her eyes as of late. I think it's because Buttercup and Princess in the other cage next to the one she's in with Kara, Yuki, and Roxie she still squabblesfrom her cage at them at night. We checked Kara and Roxie and they were also missing hair there. Upon further inspection of Yuki in the same cage with them and Buttercup and Princess in the other cage, the location of where the missing hair is where the other three have whiskers. They don't look bad and the skin doesn't seem irritated underneath really. It looks like the side whiskers may have been overgroomed out? They eat yoggies and I notice they like to clean their faces alot and read some post where someone else said the same thing happened with them with yoggies because they'd get on their face or hands and then clean it off. Once they stopped feeding yoggies the whiskers grew back. Anyone hear of this or see it?

Only my Ollie boy will eat yogies, and I haven't noticed any extra grooming like that though.

My Lulu (RIP) was my over groomer, vet said she was just an "easily stressed" glider, some are like that, part of their personality/disposition like I guess. Anyway, vet suggested to keep her entertained with plenty variety and leave pellets for her to nibble on, said that would help. I did notice that when we were on a solid schedule/routine out of cage play, she would grow her fur back, then pull it out again when it got disrupted for too long a period. Unfortunately, with all the changes in my life and living arrangements since the first big move across country, that was the case for the longest of time. Here and there, far and few between, and that was after a long absence of out of cage play. It made me sad, but there wasn't many options that were workable around my space, my schedule, and other's schedules I had to respect.

Hope you find what helps your Lilo.

It could be them overgrooming from anything or from rubbing on something. Yuki doesnt have it in cage nor do Buttercup or Princess in other cage. Just the three greys. Its like u see the thee hair folicles on the sides of their cheek. Its. It whiskers on nose, just the ones on the sides of their head under eyes on jawline.

Here's some pics of Lilo. Two of the others have similar whiskerless situations. The three dots are where the whiskers would be.

I wouldn't worry about it, they just might have fallen out and haven't grown back yet.

If more of their fur was missing I would be concerned.

Mine eat yoggies at least 3 times a week. I have not seen any over grooming-begging for more but no issues!
