My two gliders go to the vet for neutering next Tuesday. I have no idea how big of a travel cage I will need and if they will need to be transported separately back home after their neuter is finished. I hadn't thought of this till today. I have a smaller cage but it is not a travel cage. Ideas?

A bonding pouch is fine. And no they will comfort each other while they sleep.

It never hurts to have an extra pouch handy though just in case.

Good questions smile

Have your ecollars with you, I haven't needed one. Ask the vet not to shave their bellies it isn't necessary.

bonding bag will be good and they can be together after their neuters.

These are great questions and good to have answers to, thanks to OP-Claralice and to Dawn and Kimberly.

I haven't personally had to deal with neutered, but you never know what the future will hold as far as possible future gliders.

Also, good for others who may be dealing with neuters.

Excellent advise about not shaving the belly because that seems to only make them possibly want to mess with the area more which might lead to problems.

Putting them back with their cage mate also seems to cause much less stress than separating them.

Don't over think this process or stress yourself out either. You might even give them a clean pouch a day or two prior to the procedure so their smell is in it rather than giving them a clean pouch right after surgery. That will also help get rid that awful vet smell quicker along with those glider blankies.

Have your e-collar ready and know how to put it on, but I wouldn't suggest having the vet put it on before you leave. Doing that will indeed stress out your little one when there is probably no need to do so.

The majority of gliders never have a problem with neuters done correctly, so try to relax going into this. I'm sure everything will go well.

Thanks for all the good advice. I have ordered two of the ecollars from the vet (he has a lady that raises gliders and she uses this clinic so he ordered me two).
I have a large travel pouch that I will take and I will put two in their cage tomorrow night then take one out and same thing on Monday night.
I will ask about the shaving as I forgot.
