Fiona is a good girl about meds.... She even opens up for it. Made Dot watch... Dot not so much... She fights. Stewie in a straight jacket is easy. Not looking forward next time...

Tooks out some toys to make room for a second pouch like I normally have in their big cage. Seems to have helped. They're getting spoiled having me in the same room the entire time they're awake. Starting at about 2000hrs, I heard barking over my loud radio while I was working on finishing the basement. Went to check on them & as soon as they saw me, they stopped & went back to playing. I tapped on the food dish (like they wouldn't have noticed dinner was already served) & went back to work. 10m later: bark-fest. Went back to see, same result. The next time I didn't go back up & it continued for around 10m. Then 10m after stopping, it resumed again. This pattern continued up until I stopped for the night at 2130hrs. Once I was showered & in the bedroom with them, all was quiet (barking-wise). I can't help wondering if they were just calling -for- me or thought I was lost & trying to guide me back to the colony. Either way, it looks like it is going the be a rough & loud transition back to being in a separate room for me to sleep once my household goods arrive. I'll just keep reminding myself how cute they are & hope we all survive.

They missed you and like sharing a room. That way they can make sure you're there... Maybe they like it when (if) you snore... Lol! Dot does this with Fiona, even with Stewie around. We are going to start working nights starting tonight for next 2 months... I'm glad our neighbors aren't very close... They hear the truck pull in when we get home in the morning. We hear them. I can only imagine how long they've been at it...

Are we sure these critters do not understand English?
Two were arguing over a green bean (though there we many) & from across the room I said: "Stop bickering or I might decide y'all will make one full mitten after all!" Not a yell or even raised voice, but with emphasis for sure.
The two playing tug-a-war turned at looked to me & two heads popped out from the pouch to peer my way. Then there was what is best described as a squeak before the two pouch-heads pulled out of view, one of the culprits dove for the alternate pouch, and the last jumped into the wheel & took off.
I swear that look was 'oh, crap' & everyone decided to hide or act like nothing was going on, nothing to see here.

I think you are adapting to their training process very well, Hutch. You have entered Sugar Glider Boot Camp You say that, but they'll be in for a rude awakening when my household goods arrive on the sixth of September. They will have their full-sized cage, will be going into another room, & WILL get used to it (again). Once the basement is finished, they'll be going down there instead, but the dining room will do until them >.< I may love these fur-turds, but I also love my sleep & don't get nearly enough of it as it is... my alarm clock is jealous of my pillow, I believe.

Oh mine understand... Loud and clear...
I'm just waiting for them to talk back in English... Well maybe not...
My parokeet's first words were "trick or treat". Shortly after that it was "Where the h&//'s Terri?" Then he learned "shut up darn bird!"(being nice) and last but not least, "Get your but in here!" That's pretty good for a parakeet... He was 5 years old when he started talking...He never learned what I tried to teach him. Lol!!!

So how's Arthur doing? I had a dream about him and taking his meds... And then Arthur turned in to Stewie. The Tasmanian Devil released!!!! It got ugly after that ... I woke up from a nap and the little devil was actually nipping my fingers! Lol! I guess I forgot to lock the cage back... He was looking for his treat!

Sorry, everyone, I've been keeping myself crazy busy. My household goods are here, but not unpacked yet... ran out of room for the movers to unpack so until I organize some of my crap I have to live with the boxes. The fuzzbutts are doing well. They love having their big cage again & two wheels to sprint between. I haven't found the box with all their accessories yet, so they're still having to make due with what cage furniture they've had. Gwynevere had something to say about that, I guess: she pulled a braided rope mostly into the pouch, undid the knot at the bottom, & unbraided it right up to the pouch opening. I'm reasonably confident she's the culprit since she loves dragging stuff into the pouch & is also my knot-worrier. Beyond that, they're dealing with being in another room again with less barking than I feared. Some, especially early evening if I'm not sitting near them, but hasn't been terrible in the middle of the night (after the first couple). Arthur has been showing occasional signs of painful bathroom activities, but it hasn't been consistent. The new vet believes that we should x-ray next time I bring him in to check for stones. I told the vet I'm going to wait until he is again consistently showing signs since I want to be sure the problem is active when we image him. Otherwise, we're all doing well. They're up to their normal antics & being little turds at every opportunity. I'm still working on finishing the basement (hope to have the last of the floor done this weekend) & adjusting to the growth rate of my lawn (I swear it is getting taller as I watch it). Recluse infestation is also less of an issue, the traps have only caught about one a week the last couple of weeks. I'm sure my quartet would tsk everyone a 'Hello' if they weren't out like lights. I'll try to be on more regularly again now that things are settling down. Until next posting!

So glad to hear from you and yours. I almost feel bad answering before Dawn gets a chance, but you snooze you loose unpacked and organized. Too bad you don't have a significant other Lol!!! So today was our travel day to another store, and ironically, I was snoozing!!! Lol!!! Hutch, I'm glad you got your stuff!!! I'm not sure the Air Force moves you as often as the Army did us, but in the 10 years of my marriage, I counted the moves, including temporary ones and came up with moving about every 6 months. There were boxes that I never unpacked, or I at least repacked them... So I feel your pain... I'm glad Arthur is doing better, I hope he gets over his issue and not have to have surgery... I'm glad your spider issue is getting under control too. My solution would have included a large can of gas and a match... I'm not a fan of anything that has 8 legs...

It will certainly take you a while to get everything unpacked and organized. It always does, I'm terrible at unpacking. Does not help this house has half the square footage of my last one. It'll be a little better once I finish the 'Finish the Basement' project, but will still be significantly less. Too bad you don't have a significant other close to help I'll need to work at getting that significant other before worrying about how close they are. The one I thought might be significant has become more distant now that I'm only a time zone away. So geht das Leben, I guess. He lives! Don't believe everything you read Hutch, I'm glad you got your stuff!!! That makes two of us!!! If only it wasn't mostly still in boxes. As least i have my bed I'm not sure the Air Force moves you as often as the Army did us, but in the 10 years of my marriage, I counted the moves, including temporary ones and came up with moving about every 6 months. There were boxes that I never unpacked, or I at least repacked them... So I feel your pain... It depends. When you're stateside, you tend to get stuck in place. In the first seven years I was in I had four assignments & seven addresses. For the next 10 years, I've changed bases only twice with a matching quantity of addresses. I'm glad Arthur is doing better, I hope he gets over his issue and not have to have surgery... Don't jinx us!!! I'm glad your spider issue is getting under control too. My solution would have included a large can of gas and a match... I'm not a fan of anything that has 8 legs... I was only a couple of spiders away from tenting this house & fogging the whole thing for 48 hours solid.

Yeah, you'll wanna be careful about Missouri gals... They love men in uniforms... They'll think you're rich and whisk them away to some exotic place... They only see Army guys most of the time...
And, BTW, I'm a transplant to Missouri. I wasn't born and raised there. I don't fit in well either. I had to marry a guy from Ohio who I met in Kentucky...

So, Arthur has suddenly become pouch protective, but not directed at me. He crabs & lunges at the other gliders if they come near it, but I can touch the outside or reach in & pet him without any complaints. I've noticed it the last few nights & mornings. There is another pouch in the cage they could choose if they wished to sleep separate or get tired of his newest crap. Still, they don't, choosing to settle down for naps & sleep as a colony. Since they have been sleeping together in that pouch, he must settle down.. eventually. I've removed him from the cage a couple of times when he's acting up. I place him in a bonding pouch for 30-60mins before returning him to the cage. It seems to settle things down for a few hours. Tonight I decided I'm fed up with it & took out the 'older' pouch that he's been defending. I'll see if this changes (corrects) the dynamic that's happening. I guess, if it doesn't, I'll have to set up the travel cage again & remove him for a few days. Anyone have any other thoughts of what might be going on or steps I could take besides (hopefully temporary) exile?

I need to teach Gliders the days of the week. Morgana was concerned I was going to be late for work since my alarm wasn't squawking like it normally does at this hour. So, she was kind enough to come over, nuzzle my chin, & sniff my face to wake me. In gratitude, I said, "What are you doing out of the cage???"
& that was when I discovered one of the smaller doors hadn't fully latched allowing both my girls & Merlin to escape. Surprisingly, Arthur (my traditional escape artist) was still in there, chilling. As soon as he saw me he started barking. I don't know if he was calling out a warning or just throwing the others under the bus.
So, I picked up the now open bag of yoggies off the floor where my turds left it, put Morgana back into the cage, & closed the door. Then I hit the lights to see if any of my other wayward fuzzbutts wanted to be obvious. Gwynevere crawled down the blinds she'd been perched on & leaped to me (time to trim those nails, btw). That's one more recovered...
After another cursory glance in the main room, I went around making sure the toilets were closed & picking up glue traps (but hey, having less spider issues finally). Then I went back to the room & waiting q uietly for a short while. Sure enough, Merlin comes moseying to under the cage where they'd left the bag yoggies. He was less willing to be picked-up, up that's normal; it took only a moment to corral him & have my quartet complete behind bars again.
Total time: 15min. I'd still have plenty of time to hit the gym before work... if it wasn't Saturday. I appreciate the effort Morgana, but instead, I'm hitting my pillow for another couple of hours.
----------------------------------
In unrelated news, I haven't heard Arthur being aggressive since I took away the older, stinky pouch. Fingers crossed, but still wondering if anyone had an idea about his new behavior.
Good night/morning.

The real tree print. Fill full of blankies. They will dig in under them for a couple of days. You can also take one of the pouches I made that has the hanging tabs close together. Push the front of it down and tuck it in. Dot likes them so she can sit up to see out. EDIT::: On the OE pouch I have also put a large blankie over entire pouch as a cover.

EDIT::: On the OE pouch I have also put a large blankie over entire pouch as a cover. So, umm... what is am OE pouch? Original Equipment pouch? Normally they do a fine job packing the pouches full of blankets, toys, remnants of cage furniture or toys, & whatever else they are able to pile on in there with them. Gwyn & Merlin both fold the front of the pouch how you describe it, no intervention on my part. Simple covering wouldn't have been a full solution, he crabbed anytime they were near, in line-of-sight or not. I haven't had any issues since I removed the pouch Arthur had become protective over. I really wish I understood what had caused that out-of-the-blue or why it was he'd become so focused on only that one. Anyone have any ideas or experienced that yourself? I pray this is a long-term solution, not just a temporary measure against a new/recurring problem. Always something new.
