I've started my Critter Love diet and the first salad I made was a blunder but was instructed to feed it. And now it's time to make a new batch and I'm having trouble understanding what to use to measure out my salads out. I have my gram scale and will be going to the store to buy supplies soon. I even have my shopping list they provided set for 2 sugar gliders for a 30 day supply for salad 1. But I can't seem to wrap my head around what I will be using to measure/weigh with as the Salad Mixtures above are different from the shopping list below and at one point it says I can divide each item in half double the amount on each portion to make more. Should I use the grams that the shopping list provides to measure my salads out? I just want to make sure I do everything correctly this time. I did e-mail Critter Love and got a reply(thank you), but I didn't get the answer I was looking for.

Hi, I make this a lot for my gliders. I don't use the shopping list they provide on their site, I just purchase all the items needed to make the salad and check the weights while shopping to make sure it's enough. I believe when it is mentioned to half or double amounts, it is because if you make the batch with the weight measurements mentioned, it will make a very large batch for just a couple gliders. So if you only have 2-3 you may want to half the recipe. Example: Salad 1 requires 400g of peas, to half it use 200g and do this for all ingredients. If you have a lot of gliders you could double by using 800g. Just make sure whatever you do to one ingredient, you must do to all.

I have 3 and make a half batch. So for Salad 1 I would buy...

1 340g bag frozen peas (you will only use 200g and save the rest for future salads)
1 celery bundle or pre cut peices ( you will only use 125g, a stalk or two, save the rest, use elsewhere)
1 340g bag frozen green beans (substituted for yellow wax beans, use 175g and save the rest)
1 340g bag mix frozen veggies (carrots, corn, green beans, peas, use 175g and save the rest)
1 340g bag frozen or 1 fresh green pepper ( weigh/dice 175g and save the rest)
1 bunch of bok choy (I wash and dice the entire bunch, use 150g and save freeze the rest)
1 frozen bag of kale or 1 bag/bunch fresh (weigh/chop use 425g and save rest)
1 bag frozen melon and 1 kiwi (substitute for papaya, I peel and dice 1 whole kiwi and weigh, aprx 100g. Dice melon balls smaller add to kiwi weigh until it's 450g, save or use the rest)
1 454g bag of mix frozen berries (blackberries, raspberries, bluberries and strawberries, I remove the strawberries and weigh 200g to use, save or use the rest)

Hope this helps☺

I've converted all grams to ounces via google on my recipe card. Saves me a ton of time and frustration.

I make a full batch for 3 gliders. The reason is because it works out to full bags of frozen vegetables. It won't hurt to store it longer unless you have limited freezer storage.

We rescue, right now a salad mixture (we use 1 & 3 most of the time) lasts 2 days.
We purchase in bulk, weigh everything out, label which salad mixture it is for what it is and what it weighs.
We freeze everything.
The gliders here have 2 freezers and part of the one above the fridge.
