Anyone in Georgia? Been staring at Sugar Gliders for about a year and a half now, wishing, waiting, and working to get them legal. They may have just become legal here! Haven't been able to contact anyone directly about it, but I'm working on it.

Ha well I guess since Ga isnt legal yet, I should post my location here...but I read that they are working on making it legal. By the time that happens my hubby will be out of the army and I'll be reposting my location under Illinois lol.

But I am not sure how I would go about proving where I got them. The girls were bought by a family friend of my husbands up in Illinois 2.5 yrs ago. He does not breed them anymore. And the boys I adopted from a girl in Fla who was moving and could not keep them anymore. And she got them from a shelter when they were babies. So far it has not been a issue, I live in military housing and no one has asked about them or any documentation on them.

Gliders are illegal in Pennsylvania this spring .A lady who purchased a female from a fair.Went on the news and all about her story.How the person at the fair had a license to sell only turtles and was selling gliders.And when she had the glider a few days found out they are very illegal in the state.She had to find a home for her baby.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if gliders become illegal in a state where they are currently legal or has this happened or is it possible?

It did happen in St. Paul (I believe). It all depends if they 'grandfather' current animals in, but most likely that would be hard to do, as many have no way to document when/where they got them. And yes, it is always possible for it to happen. Just depends on if they change the laws.

I live in PA. It's a 5 min drive to New Jersey. 5 minutes is the difference from legal and illegal. Cracks me up.

Yes, St Paul MN they banned sales and ownership. No permits given and no grandfathering in. People were told they had 30 days to rehome however the man who wanted the law passed said that they would not be seeking people out either.
