Ok I have had a few joeys, seen a lot of mating , but my others didn't do this, they are all VERY quiet and nice during mating, so here goes. Yesterday and today I have heard almost constant clicking from the sleeping pouch. Happy sound, so no problem. Well tonight during playtime I find it is Moon, my 7 month old female, clicking. But now it is a few clicks then a bark, a few more clicks and another bark, ect... Then here runs Sky, 4 month old male, and jumps on Moon. I figure they are too young and he is "just practicing." Well Nope, he ain't just practicing! She is still clicking and barking and he is still on top. He has a bite hold on her neck. If he is hurting her she would do more than click and bark right? He is smaller than her if that makes a difference.

From what I understand it's normal. I know some have gotten over agressive and caused hair removal and some still have even caused open wounds. So I would watch them to make sure he does not get a bit overzealous... But so far it's sounds like normal for them.

Hi T. This Paulette,
From all the different one I have seen or heard like the person before me said it is normal. And Yes they can breed that young. We have a couple that are and have a babie out.
Just gives you more time to enjoy them.
not change the sugject but glad to hear that nubbie is doing well.

Thanks, felt stupid asking, but have heard horror stories about the neck biting and got worried. They are separated and playing now, so only a couple hours of "practicing" I have never heard a word out of my other couples, only know when they are mating when I do my before bed head counts. None of my females have done that clicking, barking, "come on over honey" thing.

Yes, Nubby is doing great, still alittle over grooming of his eyebrows, but enjoying talking to and seeing the other gliders now.

OMG! Sky sure is happy he got an older girl isn't he! I would think that since it isn't lasting all night that he is just practicing, which is normal. She could still get pregnant from a practice though... well at least I would think so. My sister had a male that was a daddy at 5 months oop so that means he got his girl pg close to 3 months old.

It was a break, I just checked on everyone and they are back at it. Now that I know he is not hurting her, the clicking and barking is very cute. But Sil, Moon is the one that called my sweet, inocent little Sky over haha. What were you teaching her at your house HUH???

I'm going through the same thing with our 2 here. I'm still thinking they're too young, but boy, Roo doesn't think so. I was thinking it's practice too, but I keep a close eye on that tummy of Sydney's, lol.

I'll be watching Moon's tummy too. Boy now that Sky figured out what "it's" for, he's a freak. He is obsessed and has turned into a chronic bottom rubber. My girls will get no sleep.

He has also started a wierd little back end hop. When he's marking with his chest, on me or the girls, his little back end hops from side to side. It reminds me of a cartoon cat or something. crazy

Hi Tbull sounds like to me you may have what Art call a
sqwaggle dancer. Our one guy Augie will grab a hold of his shirt and his little bottom side will go back and forth with a good amount of rythum(sp). If he should get carried away he just calls out his name with a deep voice.
Well anyway have fun with it you are now part of his family for sure.
