You guys, I'm just now able to write about the loss of my Spaz. It happened before Xmas, it still haunts me deeply. My husband and I were on vacation in Key West...vacation of a lifetime. It was about 11 and we had a two bedroom cottage and so I had one bedroom for my gliders to play in. I secured it for them and for two nights it was heaven. The third night I thought my Spaz was probably getting into mischief, he was known to burrow under the towels that were under the door to the bedroom. I stood up from the floor and went towards the bathroom and he ran from underneath the bed and I never even saw him. I stepped on him with my bare foot. He didn't suffer. But the image keeps rearing it's awful head all the time. I've since gotten a little girl to be a friend to my other baby, thanks to my wonderful husband who suggested it, but Spaz was such a cute "attidude" boy. I miss him all the time. Just want to make sure that everybody shuffles when they walk around these guys, they are quick.

[:"blue"]Oh, I cannot find the words to tell you how very very sorry I am that you not only lost your precious Spaz but in such a tragic way.

I know how you must feel because I lost my first glider to an accident that was my fault. In letting him run free at night I rolled over on him without knowing it until morning.

It will take time, but the pain will ease and you will be able to remember those wonderful happy times. Just be patient. Hopefully, the new little one will help as well. [/]

I'm so sorry to hear this. It wasn't your fault, you didn't realize spaz was there. It couldn't of been helped. Just remember Spaz is looking down and that he loves you and he knew that you loved him.

Hugs,
Kathy

I am sooo sorry that had to happen to you, thats why they are called accidents. You have to keep that in mind. Concentrate on your new baby and try to let the past go, it will get easier as time goes on.

That is so sad When i was like 11 i had a broken foot and stepped on my new baby cockateil with my cast. I hated myself, it was almost like i was furious at someone else for hurting my baby, but it was me. It must be 10X worse since you've probably had him longer. It wasnt your fault, and you had no control over the situation. Im really sorry for your loss.....

Thank you for sharing this. I know how hard it is to talk about, and I know what it's like to re-live the event over and over again. This isn't the first time I've heard this happen, and it's a good reminder for all of us to shuffle our feet when you have gliders out. They can move so quickly, and we have to constantly remember to look up and look down.

I am so sorry. I know that time will help ease the pain, but I also know realistically that you'll carry this with you -- (a day never passes that I don't remember Godfrey's accident that was my fault). I hope you get some solace in knowing that people WILL be more careful and WILL learn from your tragedy. It can help to know that your actions might save other gliders' lives.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Hi! I am so sorry for your loss..i cannot imagin the pain you must be in. I just wanted to say that this happend for a reason. So don't blame yourself. Maybe it is better this way. Maybe if your baby wouldn't have died he would have been in pain maybe a day later or a week later. This way he is painless and running around with hundreds of friends in heaven. Lots of love! Think of the good times!

I am so sorry to hear about Spaz. I know how it feels to lose such a wonderful charm. Just remember that Spaz will always be in your heart and wherever you go.
