Poor Chewy just look. Please get the correct ecollar in your ER kits. If you have a gldier there is NO REASON you should not have one.

Aww. Cyndi...I'm so sorry-AnnaMoly8 is going thru the same thing with her guy from a vet made collar. cry Here's another reason the right collar is necessary for a cloacal SM...photo courtesy of Bourbon. And Anyone is welcome to PM if they need a collar-I make them now. I'm working on a website, but it's slow going, so for now, either PM or shadowdancers49@yahoo.com. I charge very close to cost for the collars (to cover materials) plus shipping.

Again, I'm so sorry for your baby!!

When my Mareki was in a collar recently for 3 weeks I didn't use Molefoam when I made it at first - I just used layers of Moleskin. I found out the hard way that the Molefoam is ESSENTIAL for proper padding around the neck! Her neck ended up chafed, but luckily I discovered it before it became a major problem. Switched to the Molefoam (per Jen's advice) and that helped a lot!!!

Angela, molefoam is a padding where moleskin is almost flat.

Exactly as Becki said! The molefoam is important because it is more cushiony than the moleskin and so it doesn't chafe the skin as much.

OMG that poor baby frown Those e-collars can be some uncomfortable for the gliders as it is - I can't imagine how awful that must have been for the little one...

I also have to second the recommendation to get an e-collar from Jen. I've made my own - but her's are fantastic. The best thing you can do is order one (or two) and just keep them in your emergency kit. They are very inexpensive - especially considering the pain, heartache, and money that you may save having one available for those emergency situations. Trust me, if you ever were in the situation where you found your glider needed to be placed in a collar - the last thing you want to have to do is run to the store to get the supplies and make one. Much easier to just have it available and read up on how to put one on.

Just letting you all know Chewy is healing nicely. He needs some new hair but other than that he looks so much better. Now if you haven't get those ecollars in your first aid kits. You never know when you will need one.
