please if u are ever taking a glider with u in a car purchase a small hampstr cage u can stow in the trunk. i take mine with me everywhere, work, walmart, grocery shopping the bank. most people know me by my gliders. only once, and once is all it took, i got caught out after dark with my gliders. i thought i knew for sure i would be home oh so many hours before they would want to wake up and go exploring. well a flat tire and a flat spare can so throw a wrench into u're plans.... ever take longer at the grocery store than u ever planed on??? well i found that the car has about a BILLION places a glider can get up into and hide. i just drawstring pouches that i make. i make them pourposely that they Can't close all the way. i just leave the side seem un-stiched about two inches from the top. so i found out i had no way to keep them in either. and going down the free-way and 60 m/h is no time to just stop and catch them. they can get up under a seat and get squished, under the dash and chew the wires, under a peddal and get smushed.. so so many way to kill an unrestrained glider in a car. now i have a small hampster cage that stays in my trunk. half the seat belt can go around the front and the other half through the handle on the top. please do the same.
You can purchase various sized "Pet Pens"..
lucite boxes with completely vented lids that have a door in it that snaps shut. I purchased one that fits well in a tote bag. The girls travel in this whenever we go on the road. Along the way, it isn't unusual for us to stop for dinner or go shopping. It's usually too hot or too cold to leave them in the car, so I toss my wallet and a scarf over the box, and the girls go with me.
Once you know they are secure and safe in their travel box, you can concentrate on driving and whatever else you're doing.
