OK, so seeing the adorable picture of Monster's new baby has raised a question for me that I can't seem to find the answer to. I'm hoping a breeder will come on and help me out with this. How exactly do you breed to get a mosaic?

You have ot have a mosaic, one that is not sterile, to get another mosiac. You only need one, but you can't get one by breeding any other colors together. So, in short, you buy a mosaic.

What does a Mosaic Sugar Glider look like, does anyone have any pics of them? Are they rare?

From what I understand they are VERY rare. I see more Leus for sale then I have ever seen Mosaics, also I think most mosaic are sterile. So they are harder to breed, making them rarer. (is that even a word? :ROFLMAO ) I know I have said this before but I Love Glider Craze's colors page, They did an excellent job of gathering pics of all the glider colors.... Mosaic is towards the bottom... Glider Craze - Glider Colors

So what does a mosaic crossed with a mosaic make? And if you cross a grey with a mosaic, do you get all mosaics or a mix, I'm thinking a mix. . And sorry to add so many questions, but what if you cross a mosaic with a leu or an albino? Oh and creamino?? How do you get that?

Most breeders won't pair a mosaic to a mosaic because there are only a couple lines and 1 of the lines is very inbreed and the males are sterile. I would assume a mosaic paired with a mosaic would produce a mix of normals and mosaics, like WFB's. Sissy, how would your vet confirm whether or not your glider is a mosaic? I would think it would be obvious if he is or isn't since it's a color variation... Also, most vets know little to nothing of sugar glider colors. Do you have any pictures of your glider?

i was wondering the same thing Leyna. If you have a mosiac you know it, there is no question about it... And vets know so little about gliders, let alone that there are so many different colors out there. Do you have a picture of your mosiac glider Sissy? When I brought in my Arctic to my vet she about died when I told her he was a glider. She had even owned gliders a few years (15 years ago) and didn't know about colors.

I have to agree with both Leyna and Sil about that. I was talking with Dr. T the other day when I took my bird in to have his beak and nails done and told him I had a leu baby and he said he couldnt wait to see it. He has heard about the different colors and is very knowledgable on gliders, however, he has not seen one other than a common grey yet. I also told him I had a ringtail. I do not consider Pascha to be a *Mosaic ringtail* because the rest of her is grey, now Gina's (Monster) new baby is definitely a lil Mosaic baby. How do you have your vet confirm whether or not it is a Mosaic when sometimes those of us who have gliders and know a bit on colors dont even know for sure?

Thanks for the info guys I was just curious where the color actually came from since it's so rare. i was under the impression all males were sterile but i guess I'm wrong I just think they are beautiful gliders and wish I could afford one
