Ok, my new pair seems to be expecting. They have never bonded to a human and have hardly ever been touched, so they are not what I would consider tame. I am trying to work on it a little without overly stressing them out. Does anyone have a breeding pair that is not handleable? If so, how do you go about ensuring that the joeys will be hand-tamed and sweet? Does anyone have any experience with this? I want to be able to hold the joeys (when they are oop) without freeking the parents out.

Hey there, Well i actually have a pair that is was not that tame, when i had gotten them, mom came to me pregnent. So really the handling and bonding process was delayed cuz i didnt want to stress her and have her lose babies..So i just carried the pouch around when i was in the house. It has helped a bit. Then babies were O.O.P. I really let her be settled and have the babies around. When parents were out eating, i would go in the pouch and handle the babies for couple minutes a day...and since has increased...By handling the babies...they would carry my scent...and the parents then get used to that..It has helped tremendously with the bonding process of me and the parents. The parents are sort of used to me and know who i am through the babies. As odd and different as it sounds, it's true. But yeah i jus say..let them settle with babies..then slowly go in and handle babies...for time at a time and eventually the parents will get to a liking of you..Good Luck!

Hey! I have an untame pair of gliders. They hate to be held and he will take a nip out of you any chance he gets. I tried to work with them for the longest time, but they never progressed. She is a real stinker when she does not have joeys and will lunge at me hand when I am giving them food, but when she does have joeys she is really sweet and has always let me hold them from the first day oop. Their joeys are always really sweet and they bond well. I hope I helped.
