Well I guess the third person that called me about the glider was just asking questions but is still a possiblity. But I guess She just rescued a pair of males from a young girl. It looks like they were starved and didn't have water for a while. Well the one male has Serable Paulsle (sp) he shakes when he eats and on shoulder's and stuff can't glider. She is trying to get protien in him. Poor thing I feel so bad so the lil guy he's not that old maybe about 8 months OOP. How much longer is his expected life span? If he ends up dying she wants a female joey from me. I was just wondering if it is possible for gliders to have this. Thanks Shorty

I have never heard of a glider having Cerebral Palsy. It sounds to me like this baby has a calcium deficiency problem and needs to have medical attention A.S.A.P.

If I am wrong please someone correct me but no matter what they glider needs to be seen immediately. If caught in time and proper treatment is done this glider can recover completely and live a full and happy glider life.

Well this woman breeds many many animals and is becoming a psychologist. So I think she know's what she is doing. Can gliders have CP? If I hear more respones on this by tomorrow I will contact her. Don't know if it has seen a bet or not. I might be HP to. Hope to get more responses soon. Thanks SRLB for you input. I hope this lil guy makes it. They have only had them for a few short weeks. But I don't know the history of them with the young girl and her father. Is all I know is the one male was set up with a female and they had a joey where the female and joey are now?? Have no clue From what I heard the female was taken from the male along with the joey and the Young girl just left her father with the two males without food and water. I guess he had no clue they were in that bad of condition. Thanks Keep this lil guy in your prayers. Shorty

[:"magenta"] i have never heard of any four-legged animal having cerebral palsy. from my understanding, cp is not a psychological problem, so i doubt that a psychologist could diagnose/treat it. hope he gets better soon, he sounds awful. [/]

I don't think it sounds like cerebral palsy, either. The glider needs to see a vet ASAP.

[:"blue"] You need to see a vet PDQ and not rely on lay people to diagnose medical problems!!! [/]

This poor little one needs a vet check ASAP!!!!!!!!!

CP in humans is a brain injury caused at birth. I seriously doubt a glider could be injured in this way but you never know. I didn't know dogs could get epilepsy (which is also cause by a brain injury) until my own dog started having seizures.
Keep us posted on this little one!

I have never heard of CP in gliders either. Also just called my vet to ask and she hasn't heard of it either.

there are a number of problems that can occur ehalth wise due to malnutrion or spoiled food that could cause what u have described.this sounds like it is mini siezures.
things like anemia, dehydration, calcium defiencency and bacterial infections of the blood or body like listeria can all cause this sort of signs.
I would strongly suggest that vet treatment is required to determin a diagnosis and treatment. It likely cannot wait too long either.........

I will call her tonight she is at work right now. I was calling her tonight anyways to talk to her more about diets and stuff. I will keep you guys updated on the lil one. It's not her fault about the glider she was tossed into this one. Not sure if it has seen a vet though. I am calling her around 6:30. Thanks for all the concern. Keeping lil glider in Prayers Hope he will pull threw this one. This little one needs to be seen by a vet ASAP.

I myself would not even consider one of my babies going to a home....knowing there may be a problem with vet care if needed.
