today at lunch i am calling our vet. he is a wonderful man.

i will give him dr. waites number.

our boy is 2 yrs old and was in an extremely stressful place before he came to us. i am shocked that he is not mean like the other two were when we got them. he is a as sweet as pie. and an explorative little bugger.

Not sure if this was a seizure or vomiting.

Be sure the vet does a fecal float and smear with a cytology as well as a Urinalysis. If a bad diet has been fed for a lengthy period of time...then an X-ray is needed to rule out HLP.

Many times...seizures/vomiting....are brought about due to secondary problems due to a bacterial or parasitic issues.

If the glider is not drinking and not consuming much moisture...dehydration may be another problem as well.

we have an appointment set but not until tomorrow. it is the earliest we could get in with the doctor i trust here in st. louis. we were gonna have him nuetered when he went in for his exam but i am guessing this is not a good idea.

he is aggressive to the other male. same room separate cages. we're hoping to eventually introduce them. but only long after chip gets fixed and is definitely healthy.

how do you treat neurological condition?

he does have some bevavior issues. running in top of cage mostly. but only occasionally. happy to report that he ate a lot last night. i gave him apple sauce with apple chunks in it, the regular food mix with carrot baby food, zoo keepers secret staple food and vitamin mix and apple juice.. and a yogurt treat. he won't eat crickets though. this worries me.

he barked his first night and was quite when i came and talked to him. i figured he was frightened being in a new home. and everything was clean so that prolly shocked him as well.

his toys were so dirty i threw them all away after a failed attempt to clean them. it was a sad experience. i was holding back tears. how could they do this to him.

Usually if a wheel is present in the cage area...a glider will not run in circles at the top of the cage. Right now...this glider is new to his surroundings so he is under a lot of stress.

Stress....can supress the immune system to where normal bacteria are not kept in check...thus the glider becomes ill. Only tests by a vet can determine if this is the problem or not.

Hyper-salivating....liquid is clear looking. We do this when we feel nauseated.

he now has a wheel. i cleaned the wheel from the other cage and let him borrow it when we put his cage together. the first night he did not figure out how to use it but last night he used it almost all night long. he was adorable in it. doing tricks already. he had never had a wheel before. he loves it.

my husband has his in a bonding pouch around his neck today at work until we take him to the vet at 4 pm. he was wonderful last night. no more running in circles at the top of the cage. i fed him gatoraid our of a medicine dropper and his appetite is superb. he runs in the other baby's wheel all night long. and he kinda met the girl.. she hopped on his cage for a second and rubbed herself all over it. i think he's in love. he was calling her all night.

Although a vet check is recommended it sounds like he was stressed being in a new place. Definately have the vet check him out to make sure there aren't any health problems. Keep us posted.

We got home a while ago from the vet. he did a fecal float and checked his urine. everything came back negative. chip was so good at the office, much better behaved than my other two brats! dr. said it was prolly stress and poor diet... he was ahving loose stools also but after a day of eating our food he was fine.

yeah! plus he has an appointment for oct 7 to get snipped.
